Chris Redfield. I mean come on, the premise of RE5 is Chris Redfield vs AFRICA... the CONTINENT. and he WINS. If that isn't badass I don't know what is.

Also Travis Touchdown is absolutely one of the best and most original new characters of this generation, yet not many people no who he is which is too bad.

Beneath that gas mask lurks a quiet, introverted, psychopath. From resident evil, his sole purpose to kill. Everything. Thats why he does so well in zombie apocolypses. Eat your heart out Alice, Hunk can take you out any day.

Captain MacMillan was my favorite part of CoD4, he's just...awesome. Don't know if you could consider him "Underrated" though.

Everyone hates on Master Chief. They say he's a shallow, nobody character, just another nameless suit of armor to fuel an inpersonal sci-fi war story. But anyone who really looks at him, sees what he does and why he does it, and especially anyone who reads the books, knows he is a lot more than that.

Tali from Mass Effect seems to be pretty unloved (probably because she was the only female in your party you couldn't have sex with...not that I'm angry about that, it's just that her complete lack of a romantic subplot probably made her useless and boring to a lot of stereotypical 14-year old gamers. /end rant)

I agree with you there, maybe a couple of the diaries lying around could be his. I just don't see how we could be continually scared when we're a big-fricken daddy

also, I'll say it once and I'll say it again. Steinman was one the most interesting bosses in Bioshock in my book. they should've had more like him, that stressed the definition of sanity.

But on a more on-topic note, I thought that Regal Bryant from Tales of Symphonia didn't get enough screen time. He's arguably one of the deepest characters (aside from Kratos, who is thousands of years old), but you don't get him until fairly late in the game.

Same here. He was probably my favorite character in the whole game (I love my summoners, so he's competing with Sheena, who is a ninja). Other than that, Saria from Ocarina of Time. She was so cool and we didn't know why until it was too late. Also Angela from Silent Hill 2. She is my favorite human character from that game (you do not compete with PH) and easily the most likable. I really felt sorry for her.

I strongly agree to that, Blank was one of my favorite characters, and I wished
he was one of the characters you could play.

And...for what I can think, Hammer and Garth from Fable 2. Sure Hammer talked alot, and wasn't up to snuff at the beginning. But when my char disappeared and came back, she became a badass, slow, but when she caught up, she ate the enemies alive.

and Garth is....well, he's frickin' Garth, in an escape path while I forgot to strengthen myself or do anything, he took out lines of guards with ease. I just played back up until we got to the ship.

Reks from Final Fantasy XII. I loved his character. Shame you didn't to play as him longer (or at least more than 10-15 minutes!).
Granted, I like Vaan too, but I think I would've liked Reks more.

The Companion Cube. It was a useful, well designed, and an absolutely brilliant black-comedic insertion by the writers and still manages to be one of the most overrated characters of all time.

Yeah HUNK is pretty amazing, I loved him in RE4 Mercenaries.
