no game should have a new sequel EVERY YEAR, so Madden 10, Guitar Hero 5, Rockband Beatles, et. al.

That is good practical advice (and something I have said before on numerous occasions) but you can't deny the thereputic properties of being able to ***** about something while making a perfectly valid point at the same time (one of the many reasons many people actually go onto forums).

On topic, the first Drakengard game was the stuff of legend but the sequel...the first time I played it was a dark day indeed (and not in the good sense), whoever worked on that game should hang their head in shame (and maybe hit themself with a stick or something?).

Deus Ex 2. Seriously, you had three PERFECTLY good endings capping off the first game, there was NO use for mucking them up

Super Street Fighter IV and pretty much every sequel released on current systems that is simply a "new" game using the same engine with a few "upgrades".

Why not release it as an add-on to the current game, so that people can get the most out of their game, rather than reselling it, especially since the companies are so against Gamestop's practices anyway? Again, money prevails over common sense...

Most of the sequels. Only exceptions i can think of is Half-Life series and R&C series. These are sequels of highest quality, finely polished... in short, they don't suck balls.

im not really bitchin, ive beaten a couplae myself, its just i dont feel it needs more. also i agree with you on guitar hero, they're making a lego one, and thats just stupid
Actually, the Lego music game is Rock Band's doing, but I admit I thoroughly found Rock Band 2 a huge improvement over the first, and the Beatles has a huge core fanbase, unlike Aerosmith. Damn Red Octane..

Pretty much anything after the first two Spyro games.
I'm willing to accept the third one, but everything beyond that was a comlpete disappiontment.
Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter was an evilly shitty addition to the shiny golden series that i loved.

Couldn't L4D2 just be DLC?

If it was DLC, you'd have to install a whole new AI director, 2 or so gbs or textures, whole maps, character models, etc. In my opinion, if I play a small game like L4D more than a full-length FPS for the same price, then I think it deserves that price tag more.

Anything after Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
I know this be heresy in some parts, but I actually enjoyed Adventure 1 and 2.

Left 4 Dead 2 seems to be pretty unnecessary to me. It could have just been an update or expansion.

Very well, you've swayed me there.
L4D2 hopes to improve the already good L4D and so makes a good choice for sequalisation.

...but i still hate how BoF: Dragon Quarter is such a pustule on an otherwise beautiful franchise.

Max Payne 3, I feel it should have ended at the end of the forst sequel, ya know kinda the way the title (The FALL of MAx Payne) hinted at.

Indeed. And to add to my earlier mention, DLC of that magnitude would be way too costly. It'd end up being somewhere around like 2800 points on Xbox Live or more.

Breath of Fire IV was one of my favorite RPGs ever, DQ was...ugh. Shame, I'd love IV type game on PS3.

I'd add Prince of Persia: Warrior Within...what happened here? Went from fun mystical platformer centric title to dark angst ridden combat centric title.

Mario. I'm so tired of seeing Nintendo by making something gimmicky and repackaging Mario games with him doing some other sport.

Nowadays it's like if Nintendo took over EA Sports.
