Danger Lyndon Baty danger!

If the kids smart he'll keep google open in another window during tests. That and record everything, kids wear some pretty slutty stuff these days

That's technology being used well right there.

Life by proxy doesn't sound to healthy to me
Better than no social interaction at all though.

Wow, really guys? We're amazed at this? Isn't this basically just a webcam combined with a remote control car? It's not THAT impressive.

This is got to be really great way for him I mean being forced to be stuck inside your home and such for life would be lonley and boring atleast he can have some interaction and a chance to make friends

Good for him. If I couldn't interact with others due to some disease, I'd go insane. I'm glad he can live out his life, even if throughout a robot. That's pretty awesome.

Science is cool and all, but I don't think you'll get the same social interaction from that VGO as you would physically.

That being said as I know someone will misquote my above saying before reading this, I believe it is effective for people such as this kid who is stuck at his home without social interaction.

Just wait until some kid decides to vandalize it though...

*Looks 20 years into the future* I can see it now... This thing will bring a whole new meaning to the word... cyber, and webcam... Prostitution... (Sorry, this is a really cool piece of equipment, but I couldn't resist the urge!)

Would had been more impressive if he could had gotten cured from his current state. I mean, a bot works as a learning interaction substitute, but what happens when he wants to get a girlfriend, get a family or simply get into touch with friends without a screen involved?

It's not much of a life he has, the way I see it.
Follow the way of the quarians. Seems to work out for them most of the time.

I homeschooled through high school, graduating at the same institution. They organized a proper ceremony for all of us, although two of the students could not attend... one on account of being so far away, the other on account of illness. So what did the school do for them? They set up a video feed that allowed them to attend digitally. :D

Granted, not quite in the same league as having a robotic avatar, but even so...
