I just finished Assassin's Creed 2, and just as the game was coming to a close, I had one of the best bits of unintentional humor occur

I was fighting Rodrigo Borgia, when it's him with his staff vs like 8 copies of Ezio.. I taunted Borgia, and Ezio pipes up with "Hey, what's wrong? There's only ONE of me!"

I actually had to pause the game and have a chuckle at that

Anyone else have any stories of game design choices that lead to some unintentional humor?

I have unintentional humour of the human kind, but it involves games.

I was playing a co-op game with my friend, and he died but couldn't respawn, so I said "where are you" and he said "I died, you're playing with yourself" as my mum walked in.

It was funny.

Well, one pretty funny thing that i noticed in a game took place when i was playing Diablo 2 with 2 friends over LAN, each of us a sorceress specializing on one element. It was quite fun to play. But playing on, i got a ring that increased my cast rate by some percent. It was quite pricey so i thought it was useful, so i said quite quickly over the mic :"Ooh, I got a ring that increases my cast rate!" At first i didn't even understand why the others were laughing. Well, moments later it hit me what i just said. And even trough it might be a stupid joke, still, i don't think Blizzard wanted people to say things like that in the game.

PS. If you don't get it, just say cast rate over and over quite fast.

In Oblivion, the (not so)crazy people. You know the ones say 2-3 lines of utter madness then when asked about local rumors speak perfectly normal lines.
that first one is intentional. You can't make a video game, put that line, said like that, in it, without it being intentional, or someone being really really dumb.

Mass Effect 2

When you meet that undercover chick from the first game and you've helped her bust the black market dealer. I don't remeber exactly what she said, but it went something like, " I love nailing the Asari; so sweet and innocent. Then you get them alone and they squeel like school girls."

Maybe I have a dirty mind, but I can't help but chuckle at the image it calls up.

Pretty sure that was intentional.

For me, some of the funniest parts of games are when the ragdoll physics kick in after enemies die. Especially when they fall down in ways that make no sense.

in the short scene where you play altair in AC2, I managed to get one of the hanging lanterns to swing off its gourd, spinning faster and faster until it was a blur, and then just a twinkling light.

It was like it divided by zero

Both bioshocks are good examples of that. I had a funny moment in bioshock 2 when i was playing it while my friend was watching. I had cleared a room of spliecers with my speargun. I was looking around for stuff to loot and suddenly my friend asked me to turn around. I couldn't help but to burst in laughter when i saw what he had ment. A dead male splicer who had a spear sticking out of his crotch and next to him there was a dead female splicer. Her hand had landed right where the spear had hit the guy. I would like to know what she was planning to use her last ounces of strenght on...

God bless ragdolls!

Just Cause (both of them) are GOLD MINES of the most hilarious and unexpected slapstick you can find in a game.

Am I the only one who notices there's lag between your killing them and their actual deaths?

I shot a splicer right in the back of the head, then a split second later, they hilariously slammed into the floor.

Some of Alistair's lines in Dragon Age had me stopping to laugh the first time I saw them.
Mainly the one's with Morrigan.

When he asked her if she could cook I laughed for about five minutes.
