Unintentional memes

Has anyone ever encountered these? Just the other day I saw a pool with a sign on it that said "Pool's Closed." This was clearly unintentional, but I still found it funny. I also had to resist adding the "e" to the sign. Another time, someone had a legitimate use for the phrase "over 9000," but wasn't aware of its infamy. Being that this is the internet, however, most of the comments were about whether this was intentional or not and links to the video for people unaware of the meme.

So, has anybody else come across accidental memes, is the universe just messing with me?

It's from a 4chan raid on Habbo where they blocked off the pool. The linked site might be kind of offensive, though, as it's pretty much 4chan's wiki.

I don't get it. "Pool's Closed..."?

It was a raid on Habbo by 4chan, in which they all made afro kid avatars for their accounts, made racist jokes and blocked off the virtual pool while saying all kinds of 4chan memes.

And yo dawg I heard you like memes so I put some memes on your Escapist so you can read some memes while you're reading some memes.

A rukky st@ avatar and no knowledge of memes? This seems like a rare bird to me.

The term was coined (I think) by richard dawkins when he was talking about 'memetics' the idea that just like strong genes are passed around and replicated, the same is true of strong and easily copiable data and art. Hence when the internet gets obsessed with rickrolling, and it 'infects' more people, the meme is spread like a favourable genetic trait. The internet calls all ots odd little injokes memes.
