Seriously. As a bassist, I've noticed that most basses LOOK THE SAME. The mostly look like a Fender P-Bass, or modified versions...my point is, they resemble each other. So, has anyone seen a bass that looks unique? Because I know there's guitars like that, Ive seen a sword guitar and a guitar that has spikes everywhere and looks AWESOME. I'm talking about electric of both (bass and guitar) by the way.

Well, since no one cares about bassists or bass guitars, I'll talk about a cool guitar I saw once.

It was like... a crazy double dragon guitar. I'm not so good at describing things, but it looked exactly like this.

I can only tell the difference from color, this pisses off my bassist to no end of course but still. I went a whole month before I found he did indeed get a new bass but since they all look the same to me I never noticed till he said something about it.

You, sir, will never be my best friend.

BC Rich basses have very outlandish bodies. I'll never play one because I'm left-handed, but they have very sharp and unique structures. The Warlock in particular looks very cool. The tone and electronics aren't especially unique, but at least it's something different to look at.

Well, I've seen a couple of custom basses. I was at an Iron Maiden concert in '06, and the support band, Trivium (from the US and A), had a killer bass.
Also, I was at another Maiden concert this summer, and the support there was Avenged Sevenfold(yet another american band). The bassist had a decent bass, didn't like it that much, but it was different. Seems like americans like it special and unique :p

Here's a cool one I found on google ^^

I dont play any instruments myself, but if I was, I'd play with a custom instrument.
I'm waiting for custom guitar hero controllers! Gimme the Battle Axe :p

Hey! I resent that!

This is an awesome bass http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/shop_image/product/65448012c195563d904c09488ca929d6.jpg

Was going to get one myself until I saw the price tag. I got a run of the mill Yamaha 5 string instead.

Are you really going to find any basses that aren't similar to regular guitars? Every stylish bass I've ever seen just looked like the company's similar electric guitar with a stretched neck and two fewer strings.

I don't have anything against the bass (my brother plays it), but it just seems like the list of interesting customs basses is not worth differentiating from custom guitars.

Les Claypool's sig 6 string is sick! If I had the spare cash one would be on it's way to me now.

Also this is a pretty good site for funky bass' http://www.weirdomatic.com/weird-bass-guitars.html

Oh my god. I'd probably cut myself on that thing. D:

My bass looks like any other one. Mine's red; most of the one's I've seen are black. But it's not that unique.

What make and model? Because if its a Rickenbacker or something incredible like that it probably is quite unique.
