What bosses have you fought that have a very unorthidox way of beating them, or have very different attacks from any other boss from any other game? For me i'd say the skull boss in twilight princess that you beat using the spinner.

Most of the Bosses in MGS4 were fairly unique

Playing hide and seek with Octopus, Tracking down Wolf, having to steal a puppet from Mantis, CQC Vamp to inject him, fighting with Rex and Ray, then an epic fist fight with Ocelot to finish it off.

Hooktail, the first boss from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. It's possible to defeat her in a straight fight, but to everyone who doesn't want to grind incessantly and spend a fortune on Fire Flowers, you have to equip a special badge to stand a chance. That badge changes the sound of Mario's attacks from the original "bonk" to a cricket's chirp, which turns out to be her weakness. Pretty weird. I was not expecting to be able to take on that huge dragon using a trick like that.

Those were unique? Sure they're hard, but it all still boils down to killing them before they kill you doesn't it? There aren't any real gimmicks.

Dark Link, from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. From memory, he is completely unlike every other boss in the game.

Again he said Unique not Original. Learn to read.
Anything in MGS is usually unique, especially MGS4.
Unique and original are synonyms, god forbid I change a word

Please... just stop.

"Not derived from something else; fresh and unusual"
"existing as the only one or as the sole example; single; solitary in type or characteristics"

One of these things is not like the other.

The End from MG:Snake Eater.

I switched to thermal vision, and after a little scouting found him camped out. Shot him, and he'd run off faster than you can follow. However, you can actually follow his footprints via thermal vision (which kind of makes sense I guess, since the ground would be covered with rotting vegetation?), follow them to his new hide-out and repeat until you kill him.

Haha I'll have to get back to you on that one...

3 hours later: I would have to go with the ones in Thor.

That's like calling your mobile phone a boat, and maintaining that all must understand this. And then when someone says "Hey, my dad just bought a boat!" you would say "Who cares? I've got a boat in my pocket right now!". That is what you are doing. And I don't like it.

On-topic: The Bowser fight in Yoshi's Island was pretty unique.

I can't think of many boss fights that I didn't solve with a dose of "Shot to the Face". Two that come to mind though come from the same game - Domino and Hector in Grim Fandango, the first being defeated by stabbing a giant quid in the eye with a scythe.

Most of the bosses from MGS 1 and the bosses in MGS 3. Although, the Sorrow sequence did kind of creep me out. But that might be linked to the fact nearly everyone i met in the game i ended up ending the life of. So...thats probably why.

Adam the clown in dead rising, when I first played it he creeped the shit out of me and nearly killed me. Also, how badass is an insane clown with dual chainsaws? just asking. Also I killed him by throwing cash registers at him.
