The Chronicles Of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, or get Dark Athena, as it comes with BB included. They both focus on melee combat, with guns showing up only for a short time as very powerful weapons with limited ammo. The melee is incredibly satisfying, as the enemy's face will be crushed, blood will ooze out, and there is always a nice, solid *thud* when you whack someone in the face with a lead pipe.

Newegg has it bundle packed with Oblivion as well for only like $30, if that.

Try out Battlefield Heroes [http://www.battlefieldheroes.com/]. It's free to play and a fun little 3[small]rd[/small] person shooter.

That has to be the cheesiest video I've ever seen in my entire life. Still I'm going to download it anyway.

I would recommend the BioShock/Oblivion combo. Just do it, you can't go wrong.

Halo: Combat Evolved is fairly different than those, I wouldn't go so far to call it unique but it's still a fun PC shooter (though I personally prefer the Xbox version).

Seriously, halo? That's the shooter you are going to recommend for the PC? Sure halo was great by xbox standards but as far as PC fps's go it's the most cut and paste generic shooter imaginable. If you're going to suggest an old game at least pick something amazing like deus ex.

It's not that you own CoD5, it's that you put it up in the ranks with Half-Life and Left 4 Dead that absolutely disturbs me, you classified it as a "Unique Shooter", i mean.. wow.

Battlefield 2 or 1942
They're all quite old but all very different to what you've listed. I can't remember if it came out on PC, but Armed and Dangerous is a laugh.

SWAT 4 is one of the best pc games on the market at the moment. Good choice

Never really liked H&D 2, the first level reminded me of something you might do for a engine portfolio.

Forcing the player to wait for dialogue and slow way point to way-point traveling, before I realize how I don't fathom the controls and cant be bothered to configure them as the dogs kill me fast.

Was that the training level? I hated that. But it's worth it later on. Tense as hell. (For me at least)

It is isn't it. It would be so much better if my LAN buddies didn't play strict no M-4, no taser, no arrest rules.

Play the demo first though. It has wicked presentation but personally I found it incredibly repetitive.
