I actually would like to go see Chernobyl. I've seen the pictures, and it just looks... both creepy and serene at the same time.

I'd like to experience that.

Beyond that... nothing really.
yeah thats a good way to put it but still like its really the only place on earth that still has such high radiation*
to my knowledge Hiroshima and nagasaki are more or less back to a somewhat normal level but i could be wrong
Actually the single most radioactive place on earth is the B30 tank in Sellafield, Ireland. It was essentially a dumping pond for spent fuel rods from the nuclear plant.

Anyways, Chernobyl would be a cool one to see, but I would also like to go and see is Hashima Island, also known as Battleship Island.

I have been to chernobyl and it was really impressive, walking through pripyat, knowing you (and the guides) are the only ones there. And you get to stand at about 200m from the reactor building, not too long off course because the radioation there is still high.

If you like the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games you will really love the trip, as you recognise a lot of buildings.

Can really recommend it.

The moon. It'd be nice. And I could do the entire "Look, it seems so fragile from here" thing.

this idea just popped into my head but what are some of the more unique destinations that anyone here would actually go travel to? for me its Chernobyl i dont know why but i just want to go there and see it for myself
Hey OP check out this Chernobyl motorcycle travel log: http://www.kiddofspeed.com/chapter1.html

OT:
I've already been to the Black Rock City, but I'm likely to go back there for the annual craziness. I also intend to visit every continent (which means I'll have to find a tour place to take me to Antarctica...)

Well not everyone knows about guns, and also they were quite drunk =P
Honestly, that kind of stuff, getting drunk when visiting Chernobyl makes me pretty pissed, they show absolutely no respect for what happened there, or the people who died there... It's like getting drunk and pissing at a war memorial, or having sex at Omaha beach.

Estes Park? Thanks for the heads up! Would hate to have gone to the wrong place >_<
