-Xenoblade (without hyperbole, this might be one of the most bonkers settings I've ever seen. EVER.)
I'm always impressed at the crazy settings Monolith comes up for these games. First it's on two gigantic dead titans who fought in the past, then these huge living creatures that move through a cloud sea, and then a weird mix of the two. Like... man, that's awesome.

OT

Metroid: Alien worlds are already pretty neat, and the ones you explore in these games really sell themselves to you. The gameplay only makes it better, and the amount of info you can find in the Prime games builds into a very unique and interesting sci-fi universe.

Monster Hunter: There's a decent bit of hidden lore in these games, and each new location either brings in new stuff or hints at existing world lore. It's all rather fascinating, especially with the kinds of creatures and monsters that live on the planet Monster Hunter is based on.

Spectrobes: While these games definitely were a little thin in world lore/history, I couldn't help but find myself kinda enthralled by the planets you explore. The really good music for each planet helped set each one apart. I also just like the whole setting behind Spectrobes (that being the Nanairo system, among a few other planetary systems in the latter games). It was a great little game series for a younger me to get into

Hmm, unique settings...

Well, Trapt and the previous games in the Tecmo's Deception series have a default inverted X-axis and a non-inverted Y-axis. And nowhere in the control settings can you change that. That's probably nearly unique.

The places that make me uncomfortable in FROM games are always the deepest, darkest indoor locations. The Depths, the sewers under Leyndell, etc. That shit stirs up some claustrophobia in me. Caelid is so wide open that I’m usually just like, “Ok Torrent, run like the wind.”
See, the bleak indoor areas don't bother me beyond their overall "gross" vibe. They only get sketchy for me when they're maze-like, or my last site of grace/bonfire is too far back to risk undoing my forward progress by running back and resetting everything. Caelid is intimidating BECAUSE it is so wide open, and true exploration means leaving myself extremely vulnerable. I'm constantly checking in 360 degrees, vertically and horizontally, for threats, and 9 times out of 10, there IS something to run from. Yes, Torrent is a quick and easy escape method, but then you realize how much you probably missed by running the whole time; it's like running through a library and claiming you're studying. I've been to Caelid maybe 3 times, and each time something has sent me running away. Hell, I still have only found one map piece for the area, so most of the map is still greyed out.

To help with the maps, look for those pillar things on the greyed out map

Yeah, that's what I do, my problem is I either get lost/confused by the topography, find a reason to tuck tail and run, or ALL THREE before I make it to my marker! I just need to spend all my soft runes and YOLO it one good time. Might do that today, actually.

Uh... what about Zeno Clash?

I just love how weird the world is. Zenozoik is full of super-tough weirdos: Screaming bird and pig-men, some armless painter... thing with a paint mixing tray in his mouth,
some guy wearing iron shoes and helmet just going... west or something, because it's in his nature, even if he knows he will die (And other wild misfits). Goddamn "Father-Mother", with suckling children in his/hers coat, all with either strange nearly biological seeming equipment or ultra-high stylized clockwork/crystaltech sci-fantasy machines.

And you run through it piledriving weird mutants in the streetmarket or shooting your sister with teeth from your toothgun...

Hm, heard there is a third game in that world, named "Clash" Have to have a look at it.
