A big red rooster said:
DJ Shadow. I can't believe I hadn't heard of this guy until a few months ago. This is some amazing music.
Seeing him live soon-ish, woop. I'd recommend RJD2 and Bonobo if you like Shadow.

OT: Cubbiebear, I have no idea why he is still so unknown, even in underground Hip Hop where people like Sage Francis have recommended and promoted him, probably because he owns his own label. Also, someone made the video just for lulz.

My list:
Diablo Swing Orchestra
While Heaven Wept
Kotaxu
A Forest of Stars
Alchemist
Powerglove

I was almost inclined to add X Japan since absolutely nobody I know has even heard of them, but they're too well known to be on the list.

There aren't enough people who know about Eyeshine. This band has a former power ranger in it for gods sake, you'd think more people would know about them.

Hmm, my list would be:

Poison my Blood (progressive metalcore)
Older Women, Younger Men (jazz / swing / funk)
Acid Bath (sludge-metal / doom)

And not really "Unknown" but way too few people have heard of the following two artists:
Leonard Cohen (Blues)
Tom Waits (Blues / Exprimental Rock)

Everyone knows them in Melbourne, but Wagons deserve an international audience. They probably have some gigs yet to play in the states before they come home from South by South West. Just checked the 24th in Seattle, too late for that one I guess and The Echo in L.A. on the 26th.

David Orr. Orchestral,industrial.
Waterflame. Techno,dance,trance.
Maestro Rage. Orchestral.

All three produce absolutely stunning music, and they are only on YouTube and the Newgrounds Audio Portal. Two large sites, yes, but not very many people go to either site and look up their music.
