Ever had something really small effect you in a huge way?

For example, I've been listening to Nobody likes onions [http://www.nobodylikesonions.com/] a lot lately, and I swear that when I get into prolonged conversations I start to sound like their host, Patrick.

I also use headphones a lot, weather listening to music or using the computer, and now whenver I can't hear something, I find myself unknowningly raising a hand to my ear to check if my headphones are in right.

Yes with the headphones.

Glasses. I've worn them for over ten years now, and they've become second-nature. If I can't tell what something is in the distance, I'll push my fingers to the bridge of my nose. This applies for the days I wear contacts, or when my glasses are off first thing in the morning, or even in the shower if I notice something off-colored (usually cloth fuzz from the bright yellow towel or something).

It's a weird habit to realize when you're pawing at your own face when you roll over to go to sleep after realizing you took your glasses off several minutes before right after you made your bed.

Lots of those little things for me. They come and go, so it's a little hard to keep track of them. The glasses and headphone things mentioned above are frequent ones.
Actualy, to add to the headphones thing, I feel awkward listening to anything without headphones. You see, my house is seemingly made out of paper, so the neighbours complain about any sound above a whisper past twelve. Even when I'm at a friends house in the middle of the day, I find myself looking around for headphones whenever the TV is turned on.

A friend of mine had the habit of tapping his thumb against...well...I guess you'd call it the 'mouth' of his pop can before opening it. He'd tap it three times exactly, then open it. According to him it kept the can from fizzing over in the case that it'd been shaken, and, well, it seemed to work, we'd shake his can, he'd do it, and no fizz, we'd do it, no fizz. After awhile of being around him and him doing this, I started to do it, and before I knew it I did it everytime I went to open a can of soda, without even thinking about it. Guess OCD's are contagious.
