I want all of you to show off your favourite underground/indie/unknown/whatever bands. I have two, one is a math rock band called Giraffes? Giraffes!

And the second one (I know you're all gonna love this one) is a rock-ish band called I Fight Dragons. Besides their awesome name, the best thing about them is they use 8 and 16-bit music in all their songs, and even play it with NES controllers and Power Gloves and all that awesome stuff!

Share your own, Escapists!

Not indie rock, but classical. I listen to Alexander Scriabin.

...you've probably never heard of him.

I was going to make this post, but then I realised that i've been doing it for so long some other mainstream guy would post it.

Yeah, I'm double hipster. I do exactly what is mainstream, everyone's being indie these days; it's become too mainstream.

Like Air.

All ozone for me baby.

Double? Dude, that was all the rage last year, triple hipster, that's what's new and edgy

Here, check this song out. It's by a Mongolian Folk Rock band called Altan Urag. They're pretty underground, you might not have heard of them.

The band's name is A. Human. Only a few of their songs are available online, this is my favourite.

I like it because it tells an amusing story, instead of being a bunch of wishy washy love lyrics, which it seems every song is these days.

Not sure how hipster they are, but they fizzed up then died out really quickly. No one I know knows of them though.

I liked everything before it got even remotely popular. Now I don't like anything because I'm not a conformist.

I like indie ska, I don't know if that counts but bands like the Shenanigators, the A-Oks and the Sexy Beasts & Beth are pretty awesome.

Only 500 fans on Facebook and 3000 youtube views.

These guys have other songs, but I love their cover of the Transformers theme song.

From what I hear these guys are popular in the UK, but of course Americans don't know anything about them.

Well, Aliases are probably the most obscure band I listen to.

Considering they don't even have an album yet.
Well that's sort of cheating since I was a big fan of their guitarist's old band, so I've naturally been keeping tabs. Still, pretttty obscure.
I feel so hipster right now.

Would that be the fan-made remake of the popular 1996 RTS Total Annihilation?

OT: The Cat Empire. A great Australian band you should listen to right now.

Album isn't out officially for another week or so, and chillwave has been probably the most hipster "genre" of the past couple years.

Music? That's too mainstream for me. How about physics? You know my favorite subatomic particle? It's an obscure quark, you've probably never heard of it...

First thing that came to my mind.

I don't really have anything I can call myself a hipster over. Guess I'm not one of the cool kids.
