So can anyone explain to me why there are these walls up dividing the world up? I for one thought the internet would remove some of the walls that divided countries and continents.
What I?m talking about is games and movies and basically everything else that has a digital form being blocked or delayed in certain countries or having different prices.
One example is the new star wars game. I can?t order a digital copy of the game cause im not in America or Europe? It?s a digital copy, if I pay the money why can?t I download the game, not like there is an American and an Australian version. I just can?t think of a reason to exclude people from digital copies of stuff. I can?t even search for star wars on the Australian origin site last i tried.
The other example is with steam. USD and Aussie dollar have been pretty close to each other for months but is that reflected in steam prices? It seems on the US steam site you pay 60-70 for a new game and 90-100 on the Australian site.

So can anyone explain why there are regional exclusions for products that are identical and digital?
Why the massive price differences for I?m assuming the same products from the same servers when the downloader is from different countries.
