I've had this idea in my head for a good.........five hours now so bear with me.

Spoiler: Quick Summary

The best way I can think to describe it is a darker version of X-Men. Each player can play as an "Infected"(Mutant) that was born with a genetic defect that gives them power over a certain material (fire, metal, electricity, etc.) or to play as a normal person working with/against the Infected. The Infected hide in plain sight, keeping their powers secret due to a huge movement world wide to have the "threat" of the infection eradicated which has lead to mass genocide across the globe against any Infected. Most Infected keep hidden, while the others stand and fight. If you haven't figured out the point of the RP by now, the players either help the Infected survive the world wide genocide while trying to stop it at the same time, or play as one of the many attempting to kill them.

Spoiler: Rules

1. this is a free form RP, so just do what ever you feel like just as long as it is reasonable and not ruining the fun everyone else.

2. As stated in the summary, Infected characters only control a material, if you control fire you can't magically produce fire and fling it at your enemies, you must have some sort of source (for example, a lighter)

3. Please try and be original, I don't mind one or two people using, say, ice as their power but it gets quiet dull if everyone tries to use the same powers. You can control any one material you want, go nuts with it(wood, glass, the idea of controlling machines even popped into my head). I would also like to put a note here, no mind control.....sorry.

4. (This one is for Infected players) No matter if your playing good or evil, Don't use your powers in public on a regular basis. Remember, the entire world wants you dead and if you draw to much attention to yourself bad people are going to come for you with big, mean weapons.

Spoiler: Factions

Global Infection Control(GIC) - Organization that is behind the majority of the "Infection" scare. GIC has a private task force that it uses to capture or dispose of known Infected, as well as well funded team of scientist that are working towards a cure for the infection.

The Hive - A underground organization of Infected geared toward the destruction of GIC and everything it stands for. The Hive is branded a terrorist organization by GIC, and rightfully so as The Hive has attacked and sabotaged GIC before.

Brood - Think of them as the X-Men of this world. They unknown to the public, but GIC and The Hive are both fully aware of them. Brood tries to save the Infected from GIC's massacres as well as tries to train them to defend themselves if needed. The Hive and Brood are not at war, and have on several occasions fought together against GIC, but they have fought each other before and most likely will find themselves on opposite sides of the battlefield again.

Gordon Fairchild - Leader of GIC, uninfected

Infernal Anarchist - Leader of The Hive, infected, power unknown

Infernal is thought to be mad, as he carries himself in a very peculiar matter. Infernal has never been seen using his powers, and Infernal is a light-hearted man. He makes a point to make many public appearances at outpost across the world and help any Infected that need it. Infernal wears baggy black pants and a loose fitting black t-shirt with the sleeves ripped off, as well as a skin tight, pure white mask over his face that shows only his eyes.

Warren Chevy - Leader of Brood, infected, power over machines (I told it crossed my mind)

Chevy is a very business-like man, he takes everything seriously and shows little emotion. Warren is a older man, about mid 50's with graying hair and half moon glasses, he dresses in fine suits and carries a briefcase at all times which is filled with several small machines so that he can defend himself at anytime.

Donald Tiller - Infamous politician, thought to be a puppet of GIC and gives almost daily speeches about why the Infected must be destroyed.

Name: Erik Sage

A.K.A.: Red

Age: 24

Appearance: Long, blood red dreadlocks, short goatee, muscular build, 5'8, wears black, loose fitting denim jeans, black fingerless gloves, black beanie with gray trim, and black and white sneakers

Bio: Erik "Red" Sage came from a humble background. His father was a mechanic and his mother was a maid. Erik was teased for his poverty, although the best insult the richer kids could think of was calling him "Red" because of his hair, so it didn't bother him that much. At age 17 Erik began working at his father's auto-repair business. One day while hard at work some of the rich kids stopped by, furiously claiming Erik and his father screwed up their car. After a short confrontation which lead to on of the kids attacking Erik with a wrench, Erik discovered the power he never knew he had when he made the iron tools in the work shop fly at his attackers, causing the to run in fear yelling "Hes Infected! Hes Infected!". Erik quickly grew afraid, knowing what happened to Infected people he jumped in his truck and left town. After a month of running, Erik was discovered by an agent of GIC, and was almost gunned down in an alley before being rescued by a fellow Infected from The Hive. the Infected offered Erik a place to stay at a Hive outpost, and from there Erik joined The Hive and has worked as a scout for them ever since.

Appearance: Wearing a brown scarf that is wrap around his face, and hang over his right shoulder. He wore a brown, sleeveless shirt and black pants and brown boots. No one knew what his face look like as he always had it cover up but they could see his eyes which were a dark blue. He was 5'8" and a bit skinny, but not to much.

Bio: Tyler was a bit crazy in the head from the abuse he got from his family for being different. They found out about his powers when he morph a few metal balls together and form a rose for a girl he like back then, but she was afraid and told what happen to his family. His father kept him imprison down stairs, to afraid to let him out. He still had some feelings for his son, and hope their was a cure for him. But one day his parents got careless and Tyler morph a fork his mother thought wasn't metal. He escape and never went back, as he started his life as a outcast. Now even though he is hunted, he never choose a side, not trusting anyone for very long due to what happen.

Name: Ivory Caldera

A.K.A.(optional): Ice Queen

Age: 20

Appearance: Tall and slender, she doesn't have much by way of muscles. She has pale blond hair hanging loosely down to the middle of her back. She wears a black track suit with matching shoes, and has bright green eyes.

Infected?: Yes

Power(if infected): She has the ability to freeze water, allowing her to create icicles and melee weapons out of ice. However, if she is caught somewhere without any access to water, she is unable to use her powers.

Factions(optional): The Hive

Bio: As a child, she always knew she was different. But it wasn't until someone attempted to mug her in a dark alley when she was 18 that she realized her power, stabbing the man with an icicle to the throat that was created from a nearby puddle. Luckily for her, by the time the body was discovered, the ice had thawed, leaving him with a mortal wound, but the only apparent weapon in his hand, a knife. Sneaking out at night, she hid on the roof of her apartment building, testing out her powers with glasses of water. After a year, she joined The Hive, knowing that the GID had to be stopped, and the way of The Hive was the only way she would get any enjoyment out of the task.

Appearance: 5'11'', Grey eyes. He has shaggy black hair that falls just before his eyes. He usually wears a beat up black sweat shirt, cammo pants, and black combat shoes. His hands are usually wrapped up or in torn black gloves. His perpetual stubble makes him look like a bum.

Infected?: Yes

Power(if infected): Kinetic Energy (basically the power over forces that press against him or around him. Example would be like stopping a bullet or a punch, taking that energy and using it to strengthen his punches.)

Bio: Kyle Guderian, or 'Krieg, was an Army Brat born to a German Mother and a G.I. The young couple moved to (the city the story takes place in), and where set to get married, but His father died before Kyle was born so he took his mother's German last name Guderian. He first found out about his powers when a garage fire caused an explosion, and a large pipe that was shot at Kyle seemed to stop inches in front of his face then drop directly to the floor. Kyle felt a surge of power and then a crushing pressure as all the kinetic energy from the explosion pressed down around his head. He passed out from the pressure, and knew not to tell his mom about what happened. He slowly learned to control his powers. He learned that he must dissipate the energy he collected about himself or the pressure would cause him injury, and even learned to redirect the energy into short controlled bursts. As the Infected genocide spread, Kyle Guderian ran away from home and quickly met up with The Hive, joining its ranks and moving with them "underground".

Appearance: 5'5 and 106 lbs. Thin and wiry with almost no muscle mass. She wears black aviators, a tight gray tee with a leather jacket on top, tight, black, skinny jeans, and a pair of black converse (high tops.)

Infected?: Yes.

Power(if infected): Ability to manipulate wind/air.

Factions(optional):Brood.

Bio:Emily Sims, or Emms as her friends affectionately call her, was born and raised in the suburbs of New York city. Her parents were quite wealthy so she never had to work hard to get what she wanted. Though tragedy struck one day when her father was returning from work. His car was hit buy a semi whose driver was under the influence. The loss of her father affected Emily and her mother greatly. They began to fight more and more until one day Emily left her home with nothing but a suit case. Wandering the streets alone she came upon a group of thugs in an alley. They harassed her until Emily was surrounded. In a moment of panic she thrusted(sp?) her arms forward and a giant gust of wind pushed her attackers off. She had no idea what had happened but she quickly left the situation, running as fast as she could, not really knowing where she'd end up. After that her history is a bit hazy, but it is known that she ended up becoming a part of the Brood Faction. She fights with them because she believes that one day infected and non-infected will be able to live side by side.

Appearance: 6 Foot 3 inches, short gray hair, caucasian, dresses in a business suit but never buttons it showing off his white button up shirt, he also has heterochromiac eyes one amber the other blue, but wears shades to cover it up when in public.

Powers: None

Faction: G.I.C.

Bio: After long years of implied hatred in society Sydney grew accustomed to the fact that they were a plague threatening mankind and needed to be wiped out. Upon discovering his friend was an infected when he came out to him about it he played it cool for the first day to build the guise of trust with his friend and then betrayed him the next day ambushing him in an alleyway and beating him to near death where he than reported him into the G.I.C. The G.I.C. accepted him into their ranks upon sight of his capture and has quickly moved up the ranks and known amongst the G.I.C. as one of the best hunters they have due to the fact that he always keeps them alive when he catches them.

Appearance: Medium height and weight, short black hair, green eyes, white skin, clean shaven.

Bio: His family was killed in the crossfire during a Hive raid on a GIC convoy when he was fourteen, leaving him with a hatred of infected. He was responsible for the GIC catching an infected, him having caught it using its powers. As soon as he was old enough, he joined the GIC, wishing for revenge on the Hive, and any other infected scum he can find.

A.K.A: Delta

Age: 36

Apperence: Tall, muscled, with dark hair, clean shaven, however his power has given him red eyes (Only in the part of the eye that normally have color)

Infected: Yes

Faction: Brood

Power:Ability to manipulate the atoms of object around him thus changing them into what ever he wants, but cannot conjure up things (Think of the alchemists from Full Metal Alchemist, his power is bound by similar rules that the Alchemists use, but he dosen't need to use pentacles or circuar arm motions, he just needs to be touching the object). Also using his power tires him slightly, but can quickly tire him if he uses his power in rapid succesion.

Bio: James as a simple man. He lived in the suburbs wit hhis wife and two kids and worked a middle management job at an accounting firm. One day however he was almost run over bu a car. When he touched the vehical it turned to dust. Terrified he ran home to find his family held hostage by GIC. Surrenedering himself to save his family, he was loaded onto a truck to be taken to a non-descript exacution site. He used his power again to escape and turn the truck its occupants to dust. He wandered around and fell in with the Brood. After leading his areas cell to several crucial victorys he was promoted to be third in command of the organization. He dreams of a world where infected and nonifected can live together, a world he and his family can live together in.

Age: 27

Appearance: A short man, only 5'7. He has a shaved head and a brown goatee. He always wears a pair of prescription glasses, they have a thick, black, square, frame. He has muscular build, and would probably best be described as burly. He always wears the same clothes, a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and a pair of worn black and white tennis shoes.

Infected?: Yes

Power: He can manipulate rocks, boulders, and, to a lesser extent, sand.

Factions(optional): None

Bio: Born in a cabin on a secluded mountain, Riley's mother died at child birth. From then on he was raised by his father, who, even though he loved his son, was often cold and rarely spoke. Riley adopted the same mannerisms as he grew up. He discovered his power when he was 18, he and his father were walking along a thin trail towards a mountain spring when a small earthquake caused a rock slide. As the rocks fell towards him Riley held his hands out against them, and the rocks stopped above him. However, he couldn't stop them from hitting his father.

After the death of his father, Riley chose to continue living in the cabin he always had lived in, away from society. However, he now had a very different daily schedule. Rather than spending his days gathering food, water, and firewood, he now spent the majority of his time training his abilities. He has no knowledge of the GIC, the Hive, or the Brood, he is unaware of any of the hatred directed towards the infected.

Appearance:Short brown hair. Glasses and stubble that is usually found with most teenagers. Wears a black t-shirt with the number nine on it all the time and jeans.

Bio: Brandon spent his life as a normal kid. He found his power one night when he was fifteen and he and his sister were walking home from the movies. A man attacked them on their way home and shot Brandon's sister. Enraged Brandon lunged at the man and grabbed him. The man started to convulse and his eyes grew wide. When Brandon let go of the man, he was dead. Brandon, horrified at what he had done, picked up his sister and ran home. Thankfully she was alive. Brandon Rang the door bell and left her on the door step with a note Brandon ran away. He was approached a week later by a man who called him self Warren Chevy. He offered to teach Brandon how to control his powers and Brandon accepted. He has been a member of the Brood ever since.

Age: 17

Appearance: Standing at just over 5"4 with short dyed dark blue hair and grey eyes. Wears a short sleeved blue and grey checked shirt over a white t-shirt, with torn faded blue jeans and a pair of dark pink and white DC shoes.

Infected?: Yes

Power(if infected): Can absorb and expel sunlight, which can blind all who see it and, when concentrated high enough can cause minor burns.

Factions(optional): The Hive

Bio: At the age of 3 years old, Karen was banished from being exposed to the sun, this was decided by her older brothers and mother after a day at the beach where she accidentally tapped into her power and blinded one of her older brothers.

After 6 years of dark confinement, she finally asked why she was kept in the dark. This small seemingly insignificant question lead to her getting assaulted by her brothers and called a freak. A hospital admission and excuses later, a social worker showed up and began asking questions about what happened to the nine year old, she was met with sweetness by the mother and blind brother. But when questioning the child herself, she found out the horrid truth.

Before Karen was even leaving the hospital, she was told she would be taken to a 'safe place.' This turned out to be as bad as the original 'home' she had. This time Karen got smarter, she deserted the home at the age of 13 and lived homeless for a further year. It was during that year moving through sun bleached city's she truly discovered her power to control the light.

When she had barely turned 14 a man from a group called The Hive offered to take her in with her 'gift' as he called it. For 3 years she has lived with various Hive members and honed her powers.

I much prefer this char to my last one any problems let me know, etc.

After years of wandering the towns he found a man that called himself the "Infernal Anarchist," he offered him the chance to control his powers and find a true home. It was that day he joined the Hive.

Alrighty folks, I do believe we have plenty to begin but first I would like to address the questions and a few issues above

RareDevil - Yes, you can switch between The Hive and Brood at anytime you wish, they're not very picky about who applies.

MasterSqueak - Yes, all three factions have a chance of winning, although G.I.C. has a higher advantage due to larger funding, support, and more people.

Time Travelling Toaster - Yes, it must be a "control" power, I did compare this RP to the X-Men but I feel it adds to the conflict more if the Infected must have a source material to defend themselves

LilGherkin - I think Unpure is a word, otherwise dictionary.com has some explaining to do...........wait.........fucking spellcheck! I guess it isn't a word, but I still like the sound of it so I may or may not keep it.

Outcast107 - We've already spoken via PM, your welcome whenever you make a revision.

and finally Sage42 - I like the idea of controlling electricity, but as stated in the rules your power is controlling the source of a material, in other words you would need to draw the electricity out of a battery, electrical device, or even controlling the lightning from a storm.
