Unreal Tournament III Free This Weekend On Steam

FPS fans with nothing to do this weekend can download and play Unreal Tournament III Black, which includes the Titan Pack expansion, from Steam free for the next three days.

Pretty simple stuff: Everyone with a Epic's [http://www.steampowered.com] 2007 multiplayer FPS and play their faces off at no charge. Come Monday morning, if you had a good time and think it's worth a few bucks, the game will be available to purchase for $11.99, a 40 percent discount that will run until March 15.

The Titan Pack was released on March 5 for the PC and free download [http://www.playstation.com] for owners of the original version of the game.

A free weekend of UT3 is a good weekend any way you look at it and the whole package for 12 bucks is nothing to sneeze at either. Hell, you can't buy a regular-priced copy of here [http://www.popcap.com/games/chuzzle?mid=chuzzle_1_pc_en_7]!

Oh come on! Why is it that everytime some kind of demo I really wanna try is released, I'm on this vessel -.-

I'm telling you! THey're just teasing me! They're making fun of me, damnit.

On a more serious side. I've heard a lot of Unreal Tournament, so I'd love to play the demo. But since I'm on the vessel, I guess I'll have to buy the game when I come home. Hopefully it'll be worth it =P

Slow news - already downloading it, 28%. Look like a lot of people are trying it out.

But it's still too damn much in Europe to even consider buying for EUR. It's barely less than in retail shops, and I don't have to link my UT3 key to Steam.

I refuse to buy it until Epic patches in some real pants for that skirt-wearing goof on the front of the box.

Wish I could download it...I keep getting "Steam servers are busy. wait some minutes." The thing is I'm waiting some minutes since...23:00 from yesterday.....-.-'

Oh well I have Empire:TW to get addicted to anyway.

I've tried to download it twice. The first time it stopped at about 35%, then at 8%. It might finish... tomorrow... afternoon.

Yeah, cool. Way to give us a head-start, Steam.

Really now, if after this trick someone decides to pirate this game, I will personally rip his face off. $12 for a game of this awesomeness is a fucking GIFT, a present. They are almost giving it away. You can also play for free for 2 days. There are simply no excuses not to buy this game if you like FPS...

When I originally played this back when it released, I was left somewhat disappointed (I already own 2004). Hopefully these updates improve the overall experience of the game to make it more worthwhile for those that do own previous versions.

I'm guessing they'll probably extend it a day or 2 due to the fact of inevitable server meltdown...

For the last time, I hate Steam's European pricing "scheme".
Nevertheless, I will grab this opportunity and enjoy some DM and shiny graphics for the weekend. Neat!

i wish people would stop blaming steam / valve for pricing / exchange rate gouging.

the only games steam has pricing control over are valve's.

publishers set their own prices on steam. for all territories. they also dictate when games can unlock in which territories, etc. steam has nothing to do with it.
