I was doing some homework earlier when out of nowhere the thought came into my head that the GS ball in Pokemon was never actually explained I have no clue where it came from but it got me thinking about other plot lines which were just dropped and never finished.
So tell me strange people of the internet what unresolved plots can you think of that annoy you.
Sekai offs Makoto. Katsura yanderes that ***** and takes off with his head in a bag. Then it ends.
That's it. Doesn't really "annoy" me, though. I feel it's left unfinished for a reason.
[sub]Despite my contempt for this series, I sure talk about it a lot [/sub]
The "Umineko no Naku Koro ni" (When they Cry 3) Anime: They made the question arc all right, but didn't get around to making the answer arc for the whole damn thing...
It's still a fun (if extremely weird towards the end) whodunnit though: just don't expect any closure.
The end of Skins, season 2 does this with Cassie and Sid. She buggers off to New York, he follows her, he passes the coffee shop where she's now working, and that's it! Their entire story is left unresolved, and since the entire main cast (all of who save these two had closure on their stories) were replaced for seasons 3 and 4, we won't be seeing a resolution any time soon.
On that note, season 4 does it as well. Really pissed me off, since
Freddie gets killed brutally by Effy's psychiatrist when he beats Freddie to death with a baseball bat.
Cook goes off next episode to find his friend, and finds the
killer. He talks to him, then when asked to "kneel down" so the psycho psychiatrist can kill him, Cook rushes him and yells "I'm fucking Cook!"...
... and then it cuts to black, Sopranos-style, and ends! Again, the whole cast is being replace for seasons 5 and 6, so again we won't see any resolution to that. Hopefully something will happen somewhere down the line so we find out what happens in all of these plots, but still, they really pissed me off. Especially with Sid and Cassie, since they were my favourite Generation 1 characters...
Oh goddddddd it's such a good film and in some ways there's not much to resolve, which is kind've the whole point. It literally just ends for no apparent reason and the Coen Brothers just make it fucking work.
Really? The season numbers must have just passed me by, I watched them all though. And I'm pretty sure it wasn't supposed to be the end I heard the 2 writers (or some other major stake holders in a series ownership) got into a legal dispute and wouldn't allow the other to finish.

OT:anyway i feel that the Megaman X series is unresolved.
The series is supposed to end at MMX5 and pick up with Megaman Zero, the developers decided to continue the MMX series for about 3 more games, each one adding onto the MMX story but not really resolving anything.
So a lot of people argue over which story is cannon.
I prefer to think the main story ends at 5 and picks up with MMZero.
I didn't think that Wolf's Rain wasn't that bad. All that happened was
everything that just happened was going to happen again exactly as it did before. Having the point of "history will ALWAYS repeat itself no matter what."
The worst for me was the series Carnivale. It had more mystery to it than Lost and it only ran for two seasons on HBO before being canceled. Don't ever watch that series...ever. It ends on the most frustrating cliffhanger that wasn't even close to being concluded.
Fullmetal Alchemist and the Fullmetal Alchemist film both had extremely open endings. They weren't bad in any sense of the word but they were so open that it just left a feeling of wanting much, much more with the knowledge that it would never come.

Then ending to Girl's Bravo,a anime that you haven't seen.
<spoiler=I'm still not throwing the ending out there. If you want to know about it then you have to click this spoiler tag>Oaky,so Yukinari loses his allergies.Miharu get's captured. The gang goes to Saren.Kiriey and Kazuharu get together.Yukinari saves Miharu, and they're all happy, but on Saren. So what happens after that? Did they stay there ? Did they go back to earth? Is that really Koyomi's dad? All that is so unanswered.
Third part of the Longest Journey trilogy never came out, which annoys the hell out of me because the second one ended with a massive cliffhangar. And it was such an awesome cliffhangar because it was shown to you in the very first scene of the game, but you forget about it until the very end when it hits you with a hundred tonnes of sad.
There's [a href=http://io9.com/5504798/fireflys-original-writers-return-to-the-verse-with-new-classic-tales]this[/a] to look forwards to. Still, so many possibilities, so many unanswered questions.
