I don't understand why the character would be fuzzed out and then replaced with a paper cut out. Is it a style thing? A holdover from the early days of polygonal graphics? Honestly the 3D bits look better and seem to have more animation, which makes replacing them with the paper bits very odd.

It's technical/financial limitations, mostly. Drawing a picture of somebody in goofy clothes giving the finger is much less time intensive than creating a 3D model of a hand flipping the bird and animating the character model into the appropriate stance. Plus, it makes it that much easier to reuse the finger picture whenver the character becomes suitably agitated. When you take into account that these games can have upwards of ten hours of dialogue, using drawn models is much cheaper and quicker.

Thanks to Graham's influence at Cici's introduction, the whole thing became a porn production to me. Very strange, very weird, very....yeah, not sure I want to revisit this one.

That whole beat up some monsters comment just seemed a little racist. Normally characters fight monsters because the monsters have been attacking and if they don't fight the monsters the heroes could die. In this game beating up monsters seems like something to do on a Thursday afternoon.

there probably isn't anything more to "unskip" in some games.

Holy crap, no amount of translation can explain that quality of writing. Look, moe can work in games - just look at Tali'zorah Nar Rayya - but it has to be well written, and it can't be the main character. That just doesn't work.

Silly Paul. Remember, in all Japanese titles, all female characters are obliged to wear some kind of spring dress or other type of elegant or skimpy (or possibly both) clothing.

Because, you know, fitting clothing for safety reason is for silly Westerners. In the land of the rising sun, logic can go screw itself.

I got more than a few laughs out of this one... Top shelf! And I love how her sister says her face is covered in soot... she runs out without washing, and no one mentions the soot covered face when she meets Random boy with sword. Her sister lied to her!

That time the main characters used up an entire bog role in a day? They had to fight monsters as well.

Exactly, everything in JRPGs involves fighting monsters. You have to fight monsters just to go to the bathroom.

BTW, is it my imagination or Totori have the exact same voice as Rorona?

...But what did you expect when you've got a main character whose sister's name is "Sex-Cilia?"

But seriously, Paul, don't you know anything? The more revealing the clothing, the higher the armour rating.

This, of course, only goes for girls. If a guy tries ti fight in a thong and two band-aids, he will be killed (Unless the deal is satire, though if it is, he'll probably die anyway).

That voice acting was quite bad, even by most JRPG voice acting standards.

This game sounds like a really bad terrorist sitcom or something.

Actually, that sounds like a step up from the actual game.

Say what you will, but I would love to have a high-class suit of armor consisting of a thong and two band-aids for a guy. The Borat thong would work too.

I didn't play much of this game, but I got far enough to figure out that Totori was trained by Rorona...we should be thankful her explosions cause no damage. Her intellect must be less than most scholarship athletes. As George Carlin said, "dumber than a second coat of paint."
