My god, this just reminds me how long its been since I've actually written anything besides a damned review every other day. I really should try my hand at some fiction again...

I'll join, if only as a means to inspire me.

Oh yeah, and I did write this little Fallout 3 thing that I'm still working on. That, however, is much less fun than straight up writing. I found it difficult to balance using the images and the text in order to convey exactly what I was trying to get across. It's mostly meant to be funny though.

what are some of your best short stories?

I have only written one short story in my life but it won a local award and got published. It was a children's story about a kid (the reader, the story is in second-person as opposed to first- or third-person) who befriends a pair of aliens and travels around the Solar System learning about the planets. I should really write more stories. I've been told a few times that I have a bit of a gift (despite the fact that I failed my creative writing class).

Sounds great join my group and post it I'm sure the rest of us would love to read about it.

Alas, it's not online (to my knowledge) nor is it on this computer. Next time I visit my mom I'll get it from her computer and post it in the group.

It's not on my mom's computer. Which means that I'm gonna have to track down the book it's published in (I do not own a copy). When (if?) I get it, I'll let you know, but it might be a couple of weeks or even months before I do.

Well, I might as well join. I do like to write a lot, I am still just an amateur, which means I really am "up & coming".

My best short stories? Hell do I remember.
I'm currently writing a longer thing, which I intend to make into a novel (well, got to aim high, you know?). It's a light-hearted fantasy epic, which involves time-travel. The main character is a pirate, who used to be a captain, but was driven off by his traitorous first mate, which I thought was a decent enough foundation for a villain. I don't know where I'm going with it, and while I have some general ideas what kind of themes I'm exploring, I always make shit up as I go.
