That's right, I said it and I'm not apologising to anybody for it! Disney Pixar's UP is an amazing film which I loved; even if I did watch it somewhat later than most people.
Anyhoo, my question is: With which films or games have you arrived late to the party and did they match your expectations?

I watched District 9 yesterday.

It was probably one of the biggest loads of shit I've seen in my life.
In my opinion, that is.

UP isn't even out in the UK.

I was very late with System Shock 2 but very happy with it, but Diablo 2 not so much.
(Love Torchlight though...)

Most people here are pixar's bitches, and mostly everything they do is treated like gold, so your not likely to offend anyone.

O.T:Taking of Pelham 123 comes to mind, as I watched it maybe 3 months ago, and it was just as bland as I expected it to be.

District 9, without question.
I've heard from a multitude of people that it was really, really good, and I found it mediocre at best.
Everything about it was average, from what I saw.
To each his own, I guess.

Terminator 2. Masterpiece of an action film.

Jurassic Park. Great movie.

Casablanca. One of the best movies I've ever seen. Ever.

Seen them all for the first time within the last few years. Sad, I know.

EDIT: What's with the District 9 hate? Easily one of the best sci-fi movies I've seen in recent years.

It was just so horribly disappointing.
The main character was annoying enough for me to want to strangle him, there was movie-breaking plot holes, the last half-hour or so was riddled with deux ex machina, and the ending.........oh the ending.
Plus I didn't think the aliens were done too well either.

It just wasn't enjoyable for me to watch as a whole.

[sub]Opinions ahoy![/sub]

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus - It was what I'd hoped. A different type film in structure and visuals. Really surprised it got so little press and so few people I know were even aware of its existence.

A lot of people liked UP. It even received a postive review from Moviebob here on the site.

I have to say that Star Trek was a little bit better then what I was expecting. It wasen't great, but it still pasted my expectations.

They were ok, but they did try to kill me quite a bit so I can't really consider them to be awesome :3

UP is one of the few animated films that actually brought me to tears. The only thing I really didn't like is how they handled Russell's backstory exposition. It felt awkward.

Like others in this thread, I only recently saw District 9, and it was a lot better than I thought it would be.
