And Darksiders is pretty much a adult Zelda.

It's original in that it's not a sequel. Technically, it's not Devil May Cry, as it's a different setting, series, etc.

Spiritually, no, but this thread isn't about that, neh?

It's still not original. The plot is similar to DMC4s, and the gameplay is exactly the same.

Just because gameplay is similar doesn't mean the concept and characters aren't original
how many games can you name who use the horsemen of the apocalypse
also i'm not sure how the plot is similar, did dante or nero accidently bring the world to an end?

The OP is talking about original IPs, as in brand new games, not sequels/spinoffs/prequels/remakes. He's not talking about original stories or original gameplay. Yes, we all know nothing is original and that everything has been done. Relax.

Brink, game looked good at games expo

While the SMART system looks great- it does look kinda run-of-the-mill shootery. It looks terribly like Borderlands. And worst of all (for me at least) it looks like a console shooter.

You know how there are all those movies - lets say chick flicks. They have the same plot, every single time. Boy meets girl. Boy falls in love with girl. Problem occurs between boy and girl. Boy does something romantic to win girl back. Is that original? No. Does that make every single Chick Flick movie a sequel? No. They're still different movies and, thusly, original movies.

It may be spiritually a sequel, but it's not an actual sequel.

Nothing that I can think of. In fact, there aren't any sequels I'm looking forward to, either.

I was looking forward to Dark Void until I tried the demo on my brothers 360 and discovered that it was fucking awful. Then I decided that it might be decent with keyboard and mouse controls and decided to try out the PC demo but OH WAIT there isn't one. So fuck it, no Dark Void for me.
