My role playing game here on the Escapist, Azure Wyrm, is going to have its second event. The first one was on Halloween last year, and seemed to get most of my players rather excited. So, I decided to host another one. This year, however, the holiday being acknowledged is April Fool's Day.
For those of you not familiar, April Fool's is April 1 of each year. It is celebrated primarily by practical jokes and lies. The pranks are not supposed to be destructive, but simply irritating; and the lies are not supposed to be injurious or embarrassing. There is also no recourse for this behavior, it is simply for entertainment purposes for all people involved. In both circumstances (prank/lie) the words "April fools!" are supposed to be said as soon as the prank is pulled or lie is told.
The event commemorating this holiday begins at 23:59 (11:59 PM) on March 31 and ends 0:01 (12:01 AM) April 2, using GMT-8 (Pacific) as the time zone. This way, regardless of where someone lives, 24 hours and 2 minutes are allotted in which people can participate.
In order to participate, all you have to do is if you are a current player, update your character during the event, or if you are new, post your character sheet or reserve a spot within the same timeframe. The RP has no character limit.
The rewards of this event will be worked into the story for each character, making sure the right person gets the right reward. What reward? Something from within the rarest loot type, though I won't say or decide specifics yet. For new players, I'll just keep it logged that you earned it until I can see how your character is developing, then give you something that enhances what you're doing or helps you get to where you're going.
