That's madness, but very informative. Thanks a bunch

It's disgusting how much legal power a corporation can exert over you with a contract, no matter how sensible or practical the terms may look on paper at the time of signing.

Corporate business *is* madness.
Consider this: These businesses agree to compete on so-called "ethical rules" when in practice, those who get away with violating said rules (without being caught) turn into the real winners.
Toppling a rival corporation is like trying to destroy a mountain; it requires either a prolonged, agonizing erosion process (See: The American auto industry), or one violent earth-shattering volcanic eruption (See: Enron).
Definitely not on Activision's side on this one. I'm sure their dickish behavior had more than enough to do with West and Zamp wanting to get the heck out. They're asking for too much also...
activision made dark reign. dark reign was an awesome game... where have those days gone, from a humble developer to this... mess... but on a side note it's hilarious to watch two multinational corporations having a ***** fight.
Who's up for capturing Kotick and puttin him in some weird sort of cage fight to the death against some other douche like Uwe Boll?
Whichever of them looses doesn't really matter, it'll still make for a betetr world.
I disagree. Rewarding hard work, but not punishing lazy work? That's a good idea for a company to run. Hell, I work on commission, so literally half my pay comes from sales and incentives. Hard work = profit. A good rule in general.
Regardless, as a lot of people seem to be overlooking...

Still, Activision, if you think that gives you the right to enforce police-like rules on the studio, hold up their royalties and demand work continuation from them, think again.
...by preventing Infinity Ward employees from becoming eligible for paid incentives so they would be easily lured away to "disrupt and destroy Infinity Ward...
The amendment also states that West and Zampella, with the aid of EA, neglected to perform their expected duties as executives by refusing to work with Treyarch on a "unified brand," and by preventing Infinity Ward employees from becoming eligible for paid incentives so they would be easily lured away to "disrupt and destroy Infinity Ward."
That wasn't Activision withholding money from Infinity Ward employees. That was the fucking Infinity Ward heads.
From a previous article said:
Much of Activision's current reputation is likely related to the situation that saw Infinity Ward's heads ousted from the company. Hirshberg points out that there's two sides to every story, and believes "there's definitely some disconnect between the perception and the reality."
I don't know about you guys, but that's terrible business practice and the sign of a dishonourable person. I'd fire them ten times over. I'm with Activision on this one.
ok maybe i phrased that wrong. If you do good work then yes you should get a bonus but what i ment with my previous statment was if the loss of one bonus is enoth for them to leave then activistion seriously needs to look at how their emploies are treated.
