Maybe it doesn't have the original characters from the first one. It would make more sense and that people would still buy the first one.

I'd love to see the combat fixed up (more Soul Calibur, less Kingdom Hearts) and get some side-series characters in there.

Ramaz, Kaze, 'that one dude from Mystic Quest'.
Maybe even have a few summons/monsters as playable characters.

Get rid of the original 22 characters for the sequel....that makes sense to you!? Fighting games are supposed to expand and improve each iteration, not devolve, I really don't see the logic in this.

Then again I dunno if I just misinterpreted what you are saying, but so help me god if they pulled something that stupid. I will NOT let them take my Golbez away from me!!

13 Lightning, Vanille (KILL... MUST... KILL, I would never stop playing just so I could KILL THAT *****!)
I have yet to play 13, but that would be funny if it had mini games like that.

I just want Seifer. He could play like a faster and more vicious Squall, with more emphasis on Fire magic.
Eh...too similar to Squall, and I don't want this game tarnished by clones. Maybe Quistis would make a better addition, the game needs more females and she uses a whip....it can work.

Well, if they were to keep it even and add another villian for each hero type, I think perhaps Rinoa and Seifer would be kinda cool, they had at least SOME interaction, more so than the other FF8 cast (Who the hell is Zell again?)
I think they'd be able to distinguish seifer from squall, hell, they made the FF5 dude seem pretty individual and he just took moves from all over the place (Though I suppose that was his uniqueness in itself).

Thinking about FF13, i'd personally love the group to be something like Lightning and Fang (really the only ones in the group i'd actually consider up for Dissidia, the others just seemed less skilled and I couldnt imagine Hope jumping between buildings any more than I could D:)and maybe Jihl as the bad guy...? There wasn't really anyone aside from the main dude (didnt want to make teh spoilerz) that could be considered an actual bad guy, and I just don't see him being that interesting, unless he was just a super magic-type..? Also I really wanted to punch Jihl's snide face but never got the chance!

As for battlegrounds, there could be some pretty awesome ones made, places like the Iifa Tree in 9 or the Far plane in 10 would be amazing, and there's a huge amount of potential in 11's zones.

Exciting times :p

I think for FF13s antagonist choice I would assume would wither be Cid Barthandelus or maybe even Jihl, although as I haven't played 13 i don't know how fitting some of those would be. Cid may be the strongest bet as they already have his EX form as that weird L'Cei monster thing, and they could work around Baths design to make his EX form practical. I can't really assume how they fight though as I haven't played.

As for some battlegrounds, I think a good chunk of Midgar would be a cool setting, or fighting on a classic airship would be kind of cool. Obviously there will be some iconic location from FF13 in the game if they keep their trend going. Balamb Garden would be another cool stage seeing as Ultimecias castle SUCKED. They got tons of locations to choose from and I wouldn't mind if they kept some of the old ones, They better leave in The Rift god dammit.

I'm not even gonna bother assuming what characters are going to be in it because there just so many, and more than likely we will get to know more once TGS rolls around because it's heavily hinted that it will be Demo'd there as it was Nomuras secret project and he said he would have a playable demo of SOMETHING there. So it's either that, Versus 13, or some other new game.

I'm fine with it if they add more characters by game and balance them a bit better. I doubt we will get both, since balance gets harder the more characters we get.

If they just add one character from each new game and leave the rest of the cast i won't be interested.

I say atleast one new hero and villain from each game. That way it would still double the amount of fighters, and still make it a bit easier to maintain uniqueness between each fighter. Oh, and they have to add Vincent. Partly because I'm a Vincent fanboy, but mainly because they don't have a character who primarily uses firearms... Also, Chaos would make an AWESOME EX-Mode!

I think Squenix should make a SSB type game, including characters like Sora, Riku, new FF characters, and Neku Sakuraba.

HELL YES!

*ahem* I feel a certain level of joy at the announcement that one of the greatest PSP games is getting a sequel. Character-wise, I'm hoping for a few, namely Zack Fair (if they can make him different from Cloud, which'd be difficult), and, if Crisis Core characters appear, then Genesis wouldn't go amiss either. Auron and Seymour are must-haves though, seeing as they both just too awesome to not be in the game. Basch or Balthier would be good to see, although if a hero from XII appears, it'll be Vaan. On the topic of Balthier, some sort of firearm-user would be interesting to see, like Vincent, or Irvine. I can always hope in vain that my beloved Kingdom Hearts characters may make an appearance as well.

As for Kain, they'd have to change Cecil quite a bit, I think, so as to ensure he's not redundant. Also, Shadow should be in the game. He's awesome. Ooh, and Setzer. Yuffie'd be interesting, or Tifa. From VIII, I've already mentioned Irvine, but Selphie might be pretty good, seeing as she's got a weapon unlike any in the current game. Personally, I'd like to see Vivi in the game as another Mage character. Perhaps more spinoff characters could appear as well, like Ceodore and the Mysterious Girl from IV: The After Years, Paine from X-2, or even the Turks from Before Crisis.

Changes-wise, they should add some sort of Villain's story mode for definite. Oh, and actually get a Brit to voice Gabranth, that'd be good.

Zack Fair COULD be possible but yea, there is that big chance he'd be more cheerier Cloud clone; although Genesis I can see easily working. At first glance he could be listed off as a Sephiroth clone due to his massive sword, but the difference being that Genesis uses a massive Rapier and his fighting style is more attuned to that sort of weapon unlike Sephiroth with his more 'eastern' style. Hell he already has an EX mode too being his Avatar form from Crisis Core, just shrink it down.

Auron will appear, I guarantee it; he's one of the most popular secondary characters in the series along with Kain so really likely. And yea...they better do some work with Kain to make him not too much like DK Cecil. Oh and Ceodore is already in Dissidia....that's who Golbez' real name is. And they MUST include Sabin seeing as he's already got his own move set and I'd love to have a manly battle between him and Jecht for supremem manliness. Oh and you forgot Quistis...I think sh'd be a better suited FF8 character. Vivi is fear in the same way as I do Kain, Vivi might play too similar to Shantoto but who knows.

Even though I am rather impartial to Kingdom Hearts as a series, leave them the fuck out of Dissidia. This is an FF characters only club, shoehorning KH characters in would be terribly out of place and just ruin the game. As fun as it would be to see a dweeb like Sora take on Chaos, it's just not right.

I just wonder if they are just now gonna put in the most popular characters to add to the roster or if they are gonna have and extra character from each core game join the fray so each game has 3 representatives. If Kain is any indication, it could be that they choose a very important secondary character/ some sort of neutral character.

Yay for rambling, god I'm too much of a fanboy when it comes to this game. I could sit and talk about this all day, and it aint gonna stop until the game comes out no doubt.

*goes back to the corner rocking back and forth in the fetal position, waiting for his precious*

As long as they're ADDING characters, as opposed to using a brand new cast, I'm stoked. Otherwise, I'm as disappointed as usual with the newest Final Fantasty. Excluding the first Dissidia, coincidentally.

That's the thing I'd worry about having Zack in it - I'd love to see him in it, seeing as he's actually a pretty cool character, but he is just a cheery Cloud with slightly different Limits. Genesis though, I think could and should appear. He's different enough from Sephiroth to warrant an appearance, and, like you said, even has an EX Mode already from Crisis Core.

Fair enough about Auron, and yeah, I think it's pretty likely he'll show as well. Kain I could pass on - IV's not one of my favourite games, but he's obviously going to appear, so whatever.

The Ceodore [http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Ceodore] I referred to is from IV: The After Years, and is Cecil's son, as opposed to being Golbez, but their names are similar enough, so I guess I should have made that a bit clearer. Sabin I could honestly pass on as well, although I admit that a manly showdown between him and Jecht would be awesome. As for a Final Fantasy VIII character, Selphie was the first that came to mind, simply because her weapons are different to anything currently in Dissidia at the moment, but you're right, Quistis would work just as well.

If I'm totally honest, I agree about the Kingdom Hearts characters not showing up in Dissida 2. I may love the series, and, deep down, harbour a little wish to see them there, but they would be out of place, for the most part, and I admit that.

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if they added either an important party character from each game to the roster - i.e. Kain, Auron, etc. - or, instead adding both a second party character and another important villain - so, for example, having both Genesis and Sephiroth to represent the Final Fantasy VII continuity for the villains or adding Vayne Solidor to the roster from XII alongside Gabranth.

Whatever happens, it's going to be good, and I'll be content.

Hey I just took a closer look at the scan I had and it does look like they added a new mechanic into the game if you look real closely at the gameplay shots. Underneath the health bar where the health crystals used to be, there is this 3 sectioned gauge that seems to fill up in orange/red, If my eyes are not fooling me or anything, I wonder what this new bar does? Any guesses? Maybe some sort of secondary super meter, or something, but I really can't think of anything at the moment. I'm guessing there is still a max of 9999 health and I hope, I'm just wondering how they will indicate your health reserves this time or where they relocated them.

Let's hope TGS and Nomura shine some light on this and see what this is all about. It's real likely there will be a playable demo and it's good to see that that battle system has been added to/tweaked in some way if they screen-shots are any indication.
