The thieves nabbed the consoles from a warehouse in Seattle, Washington.
Professionals in Seattle, eh?

Okay, what you want to do is get on the net and look up a company by the name of Saeder-Krupp, but don't just contact them all willy-nilly. Find yourself a good decker or just a good connections man to get you in touch with 'Mr. Lofwyr'. Chances are, he can find who we're dealing with and impart the information onto the Renraku boys, who will conveniently 'find' the Wiis in a warehouse somewhere and no trace of the runners thieves anywhere, ever.
what do you mean by "Professionals in Seattle, eh?" are you saying that there are no professionals in Seattle, and you then again you seem to know quite a bit of the inner workers of this, so is there a chance this chain of suggestions would just graze the ring leader Mr FalloutJack if that is your real name?

Please, continue talking! I am indeed intrigued by this conversation which certainly bears NO resemblance to a cyberpunk RPG at all. It is a fact that I was simply giving them some friendly advice on the matter.

I don't know, there seem to be plenty in my area. My Target even has the black ones. Maybe there will be a rush, but I doubt it.
Really? I feel kind of silly right now. I got mine a couple of days after launch, the white one for $325. Some were in the 600-800 range. If I could have just walked into a damn store and gotten a black for less money than my white, and have Nintendo Land to play...that kinda sucks, I guess.
Meh, the hazards of being an early adopter. It could just be my town, though. I'm not particularly close to a major city.

Really, just because a group of someones pull off something in a competent manner doesnt make them a professional. A competent job implies that theyve done this before, not that someone has contracted them to do it.
Yeah, that's one of my pet peeves, too. I give it leniency in this case, but I hate when people claim to be a "professional" something, when really it's just a hobby of theirs. I'm sorry, but unless there's a paycheck involved, you're an amateur. A very skilled amateur, perhaps, but still just an amateur.

They won't be cheap. There's a very high demand for the Wii U right now compared to a very low supply (especially now that 7,000 units went missing), so they'll most likely be marked-up compared to retail.

If I was the thieves I would sell them to Eastern Europe. Places like Romania or Bulgaria where legitimate Wii Us are hard to come by and the police are easier to bribe. Not that I would have experience fencing stolen goods in Eastern Europe.

It would be funny if they were all basic bundles. The Criminals would quickly realize their mistake after they have trouble giving the things away. The only people I see buying the Basic right now are people using it as a placeholder so they have something to put under the tree while they wait for a Deluxe. Joking aside, if they've thought further ahead than simply stealing 7000 WII U's they would be shipping them overseas to places where they are less likely to be in stock and less likely to get cracked down on by local authorities. China, Russia, other smaller countries that maybe haven't gotten as much shipping attention from Nintendo.

I like to imagine they drove the trucks down to the nearest river and just dumped them all in the water. Monitor the sales now, guys!
That would be pretty cool, actually. I want to believe that happened too because, dang it, I believe in happy endings!

OT: That's actually pretty smart, stealing WiiUs. Instead of stealing a convenience store or something like that, they steal some WiiUs in mass quantities, no one sees it coming and they make a fortune. Thus, if these guys are smart, and they probably are, it's not like they're gonna sell them all at once in the middle of the street. No, maybe they can sell one or two every month or so in different places: eBay, Craigslist, Amazon, face to face, etc. So...not much to add to that.

[sub]Note: I do not condone or encourage stealing stuff. I'm just saying.[/sub]

Can't say it is the same in every area, but in the Best Buys here in Chicago there is literally zero interest in the Wii U. The store was packed full of people earlier today and no one was even looking at the Wii U demo station, even the little kids, and there were over fifty Deluxe Editions of the Wii U on store shelves and even more of the basic Standard Editions.

OT: Given how prepared they were, they've probably already ditched those vehicles and used something else to transport them, but it's going to be very hard to hide that many boxes, let alone start selling that many.

This is pretty impressive..
A WiiU box isn't the smallest box in the world and 7k of those...
+ the amount of money they'll get if they succeed to keep this and not get caught.
Althou they might just be Nintendo haters and destroy them all?

At least nothing of value was lost. Imagine if that had been a proper console like a PS3.

64 pallets of boxes containing Wii Us?
I had no idea pallets of boxes containing Wii Us were stackable.

I think this is just a prank. They are going to put these BACK ON the shelfs in Malls across the US and laugh at random people getting busted by the police for buying that 'stolen' Wii U from the shop.

"If we don't get any tips ahead of time, it will be the selling of these consoles that will lead to their capture," she continued. "It's gonna be pretty hard to hide 7,000 Wii game consoles."
I hate to burst the good constable's bubble but that task isn't near as hard as one would think.

Step 1: Move stolen goods to another state, preferably far away from the one you just stole them from. (this has already been done it seems)
Step 2: Spread illicit inventory out over multiple self-storage facilities. (climate controlled of course)
Step 3: Set up E-bay and/or Amazon account(s).
Step 4: Sell inventory at a slow enough pace so as not to arouse suspicion.
Step 5: Profit.

Presuming that nobody fucks up Goodfellas style then all involved should not only get away with it scott free but make a nice bundle of cash in the process.
