Okay, I have to write a short suspence story for my LA class, this is what I came up with, I hope you enjoy it.
It was our 1 year anniversary; me and Mike had survived one year together without much trouble. On March 3rd 1962 I went to a photography class with a new group of people, that's where I met mike. We where pared together on a little photography assignment, we found out that we had many things in common and started dating the day after.
On March 3rd 1963 we went to the movies for our anniversary, we where going to see a little romance. There where only a handful of people at the theater, about 10 others scattered about the theater but it was hard to make them out in the dim light. The previews started playing just as Mike arrived with some popcorn and refreshments.
"Here's your soda Ann," he said "has the movie started yet?"
"The previews just started playing." I retorted.
After about 10 minutes the actual movie started playing and I was sucked in instantly, so immersed that I didn't notice all the strange things that started happening. The theater started to empty without people leaving their seats. A darkness rolled in and seemed to eat the people and color with it, everything seemed de-saturated and bleak. I looked to my left to ask Mike a question when I noticed it all, I looked around the theater in panic but everyone was gone, I was alone.
I looked down the theater and found that the darkness was emanating from one central location. A figure stepped out of the darkness, he seemed to be wearing a cloak but something was wrong. The cloak seemed to be organic, alive even, as if it had a breath all its own, this 'cloak' lasted from the hood to the feet. It started walking towards me bringing the darkness with it, but there was another peculiar thing. The figure didn't have the bounce of a normal human being; it seemed to glide without leaving the floor.
Even with the adrenalin racing through me I was frozen in fear, stuck sitting in my seat staring at the figure. It glided toward me getting closer and closer, I finally mustered up enough strength to move and I bolted for the doors. But the doors weren't there, they where replaced with the brick wall of the theater. I saw the ruby red curtains that lead upstairs; I thrust them open and sprinted up the stairs with the figure right behind me, gliding up without breaking a sweat. I ran down the hall and took a hard right into a small room. I slammed the door shut and it was then that I realized I was in the projector room. I braced myself against the door waiting for the fight of my life. I saw the figure cast a shadow over the crack of light under the doorway. I was waiting in anticipation for the door to smash open against me but that sensation never came. I saw the figures shadow disappear and I allowed myself to relax a bit.
I put my back against the door and then my stomach dropped. I saw a shadow ooze across the floor, the Figure rose from its shadow and my heart skipped a few beats as I saw its face. It could only belong to something of our worst nightmares yet that doesn't even give justice to how frightening it was. Its arm raised and a long scaly finger protruded out of the cloak, I was frozen in fear and I couldn't move. The finger toughed my cheek and I felt a freezing sensation wash over me, I tried to scream but nothing came out, and then suddenly all I could see was darkness.
"WAKE UP WAKE UP" Mike shouted as he shook me violently.
"What happened" I said wearily
"You fell asleep, you must have had a terrible nightmare" Mike responded.
It was then that I realized I was drenched in sweat, I felt weak and helpless.
Mike helped me out of the theater so we could go home. He waved for a taxi and one parked across the street. As we walked over a small layer of fog rolled in, just enough to obscure Mikes? steel toed boots. I felt the same freezing sensation as I did in my dream. As we approached the taxi the driver got out to open our door for us. Once again my heart stopped, the ?Cloaked Figure? stepped out. Even though its head was cloaked I could see a slight grin on its face. I ran in the opposing direction as fast as I could, but the ground was no longer there, only darkness.
I hope you liked it, any costructive criticsm would be greatly appreciated, I still have about 2 weeks till i have to turn this thing in so anything helps.
I fixed all the microsoft office word formating problems, no longer will you see the Euro for a qotation mark.
