Humorously enough, the design esthetic appears to have more in common with Vulcan designs than humans.

Lastly Restart NASA.
For the love of God, no. The last thing we need is a NASA reboot. It'll be all dark and grim and gritty, and they'll probably do no justice to the original concewpt. So you'll have fans or the original complaining. Then there'll be the complaints: why can Neil Armstrong be black, or a woman? And in the end, nobody will be happy.
Honestly, I think it's time the US came up with a new IP.

About sixty years ago, some very smart people thought that it would never be feasible to build computers smaller than an a house.
Yes, but this is sort of like designing an iPhone before you know such a computer is possible. I mean, it's fun to dream, but other than that, so what?

Shall I list the technology they thought we would have, but don't?
I'm still burned that we don't have hovercars everywhere.

Uh, that's not scary. The general idea long predates Futurama.
They probably feel that way because it's played for laughs in the show. This was another crackpot invention from Professor Farnsworth we were told was stupid and impossible.

but what are its weapons capabilities?
Insignificant next to the power of the Force.
