Hey folks. Just upgraded from ADSL (yes I know I'm late to the party) to ADSL2+

However, my download speed is still 158kbs. So it doesn't seem like it's worked.

Can anybody help me please? Couldn't find anything on Google.

EDIT: Yes, I'm pretty certain I have an ADSL2+ compatible router.

Make sure your Modem is also compatible. Also give the company some time to hook it up, and try resetting your Modem and re-inputting your user info in it.

I upgraded from 1 meg to 10 and was getting 2meg.... so I got a new modem.

.....now i get 6 meg =/

Complain to your ISP and they might open your connection.

I know for a fact that some ISPs deliberately hold your connection back unless you complain to save money.

Some Internet providers sell you a service that's not available in your area, too. Check into that.
Did, they confirmed that we could get it and they did it all. Still nothing.

Depends on what you are downloading and where it is coming from
I've tried multiple places. Tried downloading demos from Megagames. GoG. Etc

When did you upgrade? When I moved house and moved my Internet account it took a few days to activate and then move to full speed (although it's still <10mb when I pay for 20).

Hmm, late yesterday. Should I wait a few days?

Yeah. It's not instant. The paperwork has to go through and line tests need to be done. After a day or two the Trained Ferrets at the phone company will have finished replacing your cables and all should be well.

Cool cheers ;)
Glad knowing we aren't paying for unused bandwith :p
