So I have a Dell Studio XPS 435T/9000, and it has served me good. But lately in same games I wish to run them smoother and better. I was thinking of upgrading my ATI Radeon HD 5800 series with the:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/VisionTek---AMD-Radeon-HD-7750-1GB-GDDR5-PCI-Express-3.0-Graphics-Card/5390154.p?id=1218637219068&skuId=5390154

From what I can tell, I believe my computer can simply switched it out with my current.

Here is the current specs of my graphics card:

ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series
Chip Type: AMD Radeon Graphics Processor (0x6898)
DAC Type: Internal DAC(400MHz)
Adapter String: ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series
Bios Info: 113-C00101-101

Total Available Graphics Mem: 4859 MB
Dedicated Video Memory: 1024 MB
System Video Memory: 0 MB
Shared system Memory: 3835 MB.

My Processor is Intel Core i7. 8 CPU.

-------------------------------------

Am I able to just switch it out? And if so how is the graphics card? Is it good for the price?

Edit: If it's not better, can anyone suggest a card that can get BF3 on Ultra with a good 60+ fps?

Jesus... The lowest spec 5800 card was the 5830. Now these hardware comparisons don't take into consideration improvements in drivers and the like but still. Don't do it.
Comparison of the lowest spec 5830 and the 7750 [http://www.hwcompare.com/11785/radeon-hd-5830-vs-radeon-hd-7750/]

Still you can just swap them over, because the power draw is tiny compared to your old card.

Wait... So the 5830 is better then the 7750 aside from power draw?

According to raw specs 75% better, all things being equal probably more like 50%. The 5830 and 5850 were high end gaming cards, the 7750 is an entry level card.

You should go for a mid-end 6000 or 7000 series card as an upgrade to that.

Or just wait like, 4 days and get an Nvidia 660Ti which is coming out this week.

Off topic question: should I keep my two 560 ti cards, or should I sell those and get a single 670? I'm having artifactibg problems with my current setup, but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

As for the OP, I agree with resonanceSD. Wait for the 660ti to come out.
