I am strongly considering buying a 320GB HARD DRIVE FOR Sony PlayStation PS3 2.5" 5400 RPM because i have already reached a point where i need to start deleting some things on my current drive to make room for new games and downloaded content.
I wanted to post about it so i can get some feedback on this from others who know better.
i'm buying it on ebay for only like $60 total. here are the specs:
Capacity (GB) 320 Form Factor 2.5" Notebook
Rotational Speed (rpm) 5400 Seek time (ms) 10 Average (typical)
Buffer Size 8 MB/16MB Drive Type SATA
Weight 98 (g) Buffer to/from Host Max 125MB/sec
Dimensions (mm) 9.5(H)x70(W)x100(D) Product Life 5 years or 20,000 power ON hours
I have heard 7200rpm will cause more heat for only a little faster speed so i've decided to go with 5400 since i have had no concerns with loading times.
I want to make sure there isn't anything i am missing, or if there are any other considerations that should be taken into account before i "commit to buy".
should i go for the 500gb or is 320gb enough?
Also, I am worried about transferring data from my current to new hard drive. what's the best way to go about that?
