So I've decided I need to start looking around for something more active to do. General outdoor activity, y'know. I'm thinking basketball but I also have a lot of upper body strength I think I could put to use, so, are there any activities that would see this particular trait of mine finding use?

Also, discuss hobbies! Or something.

Canoeing in the sea is pretty hard work. Really nails the lower back too.

I get a good workout from riding the bike. Manhandling an ageing 186kg superbike around the lanes really hammers the upper body.

boxing... climbing...
its not exactly hard to think of stuff...

i personally want to do some kind of martial art or fighting, because i too have great upper body strength, but im not very fit (which boxing helps with i imagine) and my lower body strength is lacking in comparison, but not weak... (which martial arts generally helps with) ...and i become generally more resistnt to whatever physical challenge the world decides i should come up against...

I've been climbing and bouldering for six months now and I've been enjoying it thoroughly! I can wholeheartedly recommend it!

Weightlifting. You will make so-called "noob gains" very quickly during the first 6-8 weeks

which is what puts a lot of people off i imagine... they get the short burst, and get put off when it slows down... fortunately, im neurotic enough to get addicted to weightlifting, so im still going :D
