[HEADING=3]Before Delta City, everyone was obsessed with the apocalypse. I'd watch TV, log onto message boards, and everybody would be talking about the same thing; ?What's Your Zombie Survival Plan? What End Times Story Is The Best??, you know, to suspend their sense of invulnerability. But now, things had changed. The apocalypse had come and gone in the city of Old Detroit, and nobody seemed to care.[/HEADING]
[HEADING=1]Urban Monkey Warfare: A RoboCop Role Play[/HEADING]
[h4]Before making a character sheet, please read the forum sticky regarding roleplaying [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/362.116378].[/h4]
Since the wikipedia entry on Robocop is too long and doesn't really hold that much useful information pertaining to the story, I'll just summarize it quickly.
A company called Omni Consumer Products wants to turn the crime infested city of Old Detroit into a utopia called Delta City. Their method of doing this is by using their corporate status and advanced robotics technology to force the residents from their homes and demolishing them. You are part of the resistance movement, bent on fighting back and reclaiming your homes. As the old saying goes "Live free, or die tryin'".
The world of RoboCop is indeed a grim one. Because of the destruction caused by OmniCorp, crime is more rampant than ever, and the only law enforcement available are the roving, corrupt "ED-209 Urban Pacification Units". Whether they shoot most people on sight is because of a programing error or something darker, remains to be seen. As a member of the resistance, not only will you have to reclaim your home (or, at least, what's left of it), but you will also have to band together with the citizens of Old Detroit to put a stop to the OmniCorp menace for good.
That's not all, either. Due to the police force being replaced by operatives of OmniCorp, you'll have to deal with roving squads of looters and bandits as well. Although taking down OmniCorp would lure even the most insane psychopaths to your side, a state of lawlessness is just too hard to pass up for most people. If you can find time from fighting giant robots, you'll still be faced with the task of creating a stable existence.
You will start off in New Haven (Haven of course being Old Detroit's Red Light District), an abandoned warehouse that is home to most of the sane people left in the city. Granted, there is a lot of risque business going on (the sale of slaves only stopped a couple of months ago), but it is overall a safe place. You will come back here after each mission to rest, stock up on supplies, and get your missions. It's basically a tavern, of sorts.
If enough people show interest, I will write up a detailed story intro, and give the players their first mission.

Name:Richard Tempest
Gender: Male
Profession (doesn't matter that much, just gives you special skills): Tech Support Specialist
Appearance: 6'5", black male, 31 years old. Wears a faded black jacket with no zipper, blue t-shirt, jeans, and ripped shoes.
Bio: Contrary to what Richard thought, Delta City was the best thing that had ever happened to him. Before then, he inhabited a world of blissful ignorance of how he had taken for granted the system he depended on so much. Before then, he would sleep in longer than he needed to, in a house bigger than what he needed, he ate more than he needed. He worked a job he didn't need, to buy more things he didn't need. But now, his world was a world of necessity. Now, he only ate what he could afford to barter or hunt for. Now, he had to walk to places he actually wanted to go to. Now, he only worked for what he needed. It might seem primitive to him, but Delta City has turned this mere office techie into a warrior
