This is a serious console problem

MY PS3
!!

It's the problem where it won't show the screen but you can still hear the sound
my HDMI and cables are all fine

i've done EVERYTHING

even the full reset button where you hold down the reset icon and it will return to factory settings

here's the statistics

PS3 model is the first 60GB models

The output device is actually a HD projector

it worked fine before for the past 3 years

but i had this problem before (only i fixed it using the full reset button)

it works on my living room TV which is a plasma HD samsung

the projector is a benq W100

it works with other forms of connection e.g. Composite

so please i need help !!!

If I knew anything I'd help you out. Damn.... How much did you sink into that thing? If you can't get it to work, my sympathies to you.
i have tried truly everything

the problem lies somewhere between the projectorand the PS3

it works perfect on a tv

but the main thing is it can't work on the projector using a HD setting

I have a vague idea [http://tinyurl.com/d694jf]

On that note. Use the edit button instead of spamming, lay off the caps lock, and remember kids: with exclamation marks, it's one or none!

if you really have done EVERYTHING then there is nothing left to do so you might aswell drop the whole thing and play on your PC (or TV) :p

But the fanboys say PS3's never break down.....

Have you tried, lowering the resolution right down on the consol, in the living room? Then plugging it back into the other monitor? It might be more the other monitors that?s not working.

Hmm, suddenly RROD has found a challenger!

Sony tech support is worthless. They hate their customers. I had a friend call once with a similar problem with his HDMI cable, and they pretty much said "It's not our fault, nor is it that of our product; you must just be an idiot."

Definitely sounds like a problem with the port on the projector. If a friend of yours has an HDMI compatible projector, borrow his and see if it works there. If so, you need to replace yours.

Is the projector 1080i/p compatable? If it works on a TV, but not a projector, I would seggest plugging it into the TV, changing the settings to make it 720i/p and plugging it back into the projector.

The same thing happened my friend, and after he went apeshit.....he called the support call service and they solved the problem...can't remember how though...but, from my own experience, I just mess around with all the cables at the back of the console and hope for the best...and it usually works! :)
