So Musk and the creepy Elonjugend can soon look into people's finances and go look for ''fraud'' in welfare and other such programs. I have two words for people that think its a good idea for Musk and his Elonjugend to look for ''fraud'' related to welfare or governmental support of the poor.

Toeslagen affaire! Should this be too Dutch for you then the three words I'll have for you are ''Post office scandal''

In general actively hunting on your own citizens to find ''fraud'', under the expectation you WILL find fraud, and under the ideological lense that the lower and middle class should justify and claw for any penny and deserve to get crushed if they cannot do this perfectly, is a recipe for abuse of power and complete disaster.

Because we've seen where this will lead to. Governments making mistakes, unfairly accusing people, being unwilling to admit they made wrongful accusations and then using all assets of the state to crush those that they can't even prove did ''fraud''. And somehow those checks and mistakes always intensified when a person's name sounded foreign....

And that's from governments that are not defined by extreme oligarchical control and even more extreme racism and incompetence. You think the racists Elonjugend won't be encouraged by Trump to maybe check those ''lazy'' black people extra thoroughly? You really think an administration defined by unqualified people and incompetence won't make mistakes? You really think Trump and Elon would admit they made mistakes or even care? And do you think a government all about extracting as much money going to the poor and delivering it to the rich won't be extremely ruthless in doing so?

Mark my words. A decade from now we'll hear all about horror stories of the Trump administration actively hunting on their citizens and sending them into financial ruin just to be able to claim they found ''fraud''

It happened to your betters. It will happen to you, and it likely won't even be a horrible accident such as with us.

Hmm, the salt over the Musk Time cover. I can taste it. Anyway, could stand to be more republican.
Wish he'd tell us what Manhattan is saved from. Being more navigable?

(Also if Biden had said "long live the king" Republicans would've been throwing rifles into the beds of their pickup trucks by lunchtime.)

Remember when the IRS was like "We should be extra careful when we scrutinize the tax record of organization that call for the abolishment of tax, because their most likely staffed with people who really want to avoid paying tax" and judges lost their shit about that and made them stop?

Literally couldn't give a shit. Corruption is a non-partisan issue.
There's at least a coin flip you wouldn't recognize something so minor as corruption in a politician you like, but I at least believe you that if you saw it, you'd oppose it.
Did the Dem loyalist also get $100,000 from them? Threaten to fire the official if he didn't sign the building off? Falsify his paper trail?

If so, straight to jail, do not pass Go, do not collect $100,000.
You I don't believe at all.

My standard policy is not to like politicians. At best, they get a lesser of two evils

I also don't understand why liking someone means you can't oppose them. I KNOW that's how most people operate. I just don't have the gene where liking someone means you whitewash everything. I'm the black sheep of a lot of family gatherings. Of course, in here is perception (what you think is corruption might not be what I think) that we need to take into account

They aren't looking for fruad

They are looking for thoughtcrimes

They've already banned or fined people based upon Musk and Trump's dislike of certain words. Those words could be used in a completely different context. They are just CLT+F through documents and fining who they find

The term fruad here is just a smoke screen for a moral panic

Go on, do it. Take this to the USSC.

So a cumulative cut of 34%. Bold.

For no particular reason

Does anyone here but me ever criticize their own side?
Sure, most do.
Silvanus for example has regularly criticized Labour (which i think is the closest to "own side") , even unprompted.

You however don't. Whenever something pops up, you either fish for excuses, deny it happened or start some whataboutery.

Silvanus's side is the Democrats, he is the Democrat equivalent of a weeaboo, whatever the proper portmanteau of those is. I suspect the literal ocean of disconnect is part of why he can critically assess his own politicians but is unflinchingly loyal to the party across the sea.

I have been known to correct people here when they say something too positive about the party I'm actually registered in. It does not happen often, because this board has more communists than conservatives, but I don't hesitate when it does. I'm not defending Republicans that want to stop teaching evolution, I think the party has missed the mark on gun control, I can listen to the politicians and pundits and identify my areas of disagreement, it just doesn't come up here often, and I have no intention of just spontaneously spouting rants of things here that none of you actually care about.

Fucking Lol.

I despise the American Democrats. For the most part they're corporatist shills, corrupt, facilitators of ethnic cleansing. And I've frequently condemned them on these same forums-- these are all sentiments i've given multiple times before. "Unflinchingly loyal", what utter horseshit.

What you seem to be mistaking for "unflinching loyalty" to the Democrats is merely recognition that the Republicans are generally even worse.
