How much does a packet of Pop-Tarts cost in the USA? And how much does a packet of Reese's Peanut Buttercups cost?

It varies, really. A 4-pack of Pop Tarts costs $1.75 where I live but $2.50 in Chicago, at the least.

I think a small pack of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups costs $1.00-$1.50 just about anywhere in the U.S.

What sizes are we talking about? Quantity?

Why do you need to know?

A thread about the US that might not turn into a ranting contest?

I find this very suspicious.

Depends on where you go and how many. At my school the packets sell for 1$ or 1.25$ and the cups 0.50$ each assuming they have either one. At local retail stores is probably 0.50$ more for each product.

First of all, the quantities you mentioned were the ones I was the most curious about[footnote]assuming that a "small pack" is one with three regular-sized cups[/footnote], though you're free to tell me about other quantities as well since I'm interested in that too. The reason I'm asking is that here in Sweden, a pack of four bags of Pop-Tarts (with two tarts in each bag) costs what amounts to $11.77 at current rates, and I want to know how big a rip-off that is. The Reese's cost at least $1.50.

PopTarts (4-pack) $2.50 (75 cents for one in the vending machine at work)
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (2-pack) $1 (60 cents in the vending machine)

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are my favorite but because thier price doubled in the past decade, I very rarely buy them when they aren't on sale. I usually just wait till the day after a holiday like Easter and then buy up several big bags of the half-priced candy to last me till the next holiday.

Well, it depends on how much you get. A box of 6 pop-tarts is usually around $3 where I'm at, and that's generally the smallest I can find. The boxes of a dozen are usually around $5.

For the Reese's pieces, a pack of 2 will run pretty close to a dollar, while a 4-pack is usually a buck and a half. You can often pick them up 8 at time for about $2 if you know where to look.

that is a GIGANTIC rip-off I could get reese's 2 for a dollar half the time where I live, and pop tarts cost maybe a buck fifty.

I completely forgot how many cups were in a pack, so there's that. There are also giant packs that have three rather large cups that go for $6.00[footnote]I think.[/footnote] or so in Chicago.

A six-pack of Pop Tarts costs $2.00 where I come from but I don't know how much they cost in Chicago. I've never seen a six pack of Pop Tarts in Chicago.

A large pack of Peanut Butter Cups goes for around $1.75 where I come from and I don't know how much they cost in Chicago.

Well, to be fair I think Pop-Tarts have to be imported in some more expensive way since they're not offically launched here in Sweden. But yeah, it is more than they're wrth unless it's my favorite flavor or some new flavor that seems delicious. And the import thing is true of the peanut cups as well, but they're worth it.
