We all know about how companies are mad that buying used games gives them no money. I was reading up on my textbooks cost so much money and I came across this
If a gamestore sells a used game, take a certain percentage away from them and give it to the company. The store still makes money off the used game, the game company gets about 15% (or whatever percentage) off the used game that was purchased, and the consumer doesn't have to worry about this whole "Project 10 dollar" business.
Personally, I think it could work. Sure Gamestop won't be making the crazy profits they make now, but I think it's a win win for everyone. Gamestop still gets their money, and the game company could then put that money to work for better games (assuming some douchebag CEO doesn't pocket it all...)
You have any ideas that would solve that problem so that we, the gamers, don't get screwed over in the end?
Would it be possible (as in the politics) that the game companies could try to pass something that resembles that last sentence? One major dissimilarity in these cases is that pirated movies and music are illegal whereas the used textbook market is legal. (There have been proposals to change this state of affairs. For example, one idea is that when used book companies resell texts they would pay the original textbook company and author a royalty
