I really don't understand the project $10 concept. If you're willing to cut out a section of the game for used copies and charge $10 to unlock them, why not just have a one time use code that unlocks the entire game? This would end the used game market all together. Developers/Publishers are pissing and moaning about the used game market when they could end it tomorrow if they wanted to. They wouldn't lose any customers because the only people affected are the people that were going to by the game used anyway (and they wouldn't see a cent of that money regardless).
I'll tell you why they don't do this; the used game market is as benificial to them as it is detrimental. Someone picks up a used copy of Mass Effect 2 for cheap because hey, why not? it's cheap, ends up loving it and then rushes out to get Mass Effect 3 when it's released. Bitching about the used game market and then doing nothing to stop it is the Devs/Publishers trying to have their cake and eat it too. I'm all for project $10 but don't turn around and keep moaning about the used game market.
