Useless game features

Well, I think some of you know about the Alone in the Dark "blink" button, right?

Just go to 01:00

What other games have these types of features that may have looked smart on paper but are worth crap in the game?

People phoning you in games, on your phone.

Sometimes it works, but in games like GTA4 and Dead Rising it bugs me.

From what I'm aware of blinking actually lets you see invisible monster later on in that game so it's not that useless.
But something actually useless? Uuuuh... speechcraft in pretty much every Elder Scrolls game I guess, especially when you can just get a charm spell if you really want the cheaper prices.

The equipment menu in Dragon's Dogma, they should've merge it with the inventory.
