Hmm ... judging by most responses, people are taking it to mean online games.

Worst team mates for me are engineers and musicians in M&B:Napoleonic Wars. Mind you, it's the only FPS besides L4D I play online.

They'll straight away run to a difficult-to-access area, and then the engineers will start building the infamous 'stairway to heaven', or a barricade the likes of which would make Sauron's Black Gate look like the garden fence. And the musicians? They'll provide a musical accompaniment to the sound of hammers and shovels forming said barricades.

Meanwhile, the rest of the teams are busy battling for victory. And then you're left with 2 mins on the clock and there's only one non-engineer/non-musician left - he's on the other side of the battle field and has to run back to fight the engineers (who by now need oxygen masks because of the altitude they've gained), only for the clock to run out before he gets there.

And then those same engineers and musicians COMPLAIN when someone shoots them or stabs them in the face with a bayonet. Grrrr.

They always request maps where you can't set up artillery as well, so you can't just howitzer the bollocks out of their 'fort'.

About a month ago I was playing Special Delivery on TF2. I generally don't stick to one class and just change depending on the situation or the way I feel. Regardless, I went to Sniper. HOLY SHIT GUYS LETS ALL JUMP ON SNIPER LOLOLOL. That was them. We then proceeded to get our ass handed to us due to my team just being scattered everywhere. I stood there. Beyond words. We had about 6 snipers. Most of which weren't doing there job. I switched to Demoman and proceeded to play. They were a shit team. I then left.

my friends can be shit at playing multiplayer games, so we end up being destroyed. I feel bad for everyone else, but we have so much fun with it.

Honestly, I'm still doing co-op vs. AI in League of Legends. Still on beginner. Yeah, I need the practice.

But this... THIS.... and on Beginner too....

So anyway, today, by the end of this one game (we won, so you know), we as a team scored 18 kills.

I (as Lux) personally got 17.

As I was pushing up the mid lane, my teammates kept getting killed off. Sure, they got some turrets cleared, but oh man. It felt almost as though I had to play that game all by myself. It took one, ANY of my teammates 21 minutes into the game to get one kill. I couldn't believe I had to kill the nexus turrets and the nexus alone.

Maybe they were total newcomers or totally new to the characters they used, but still, FOUR nigh-useless teammates? Ugh. -_-

Planetside 2 - anyone who really can't control an aircraft or vehicle.

There is nothing worse than being flipped over by an aircraft of your own faction colliding with you and either killing you outright or flipping you over and spinning you out of control near a structure.

Or, tank drivers who run you over because they simply aren't watching who is healing them (I play as Eng a lot) during pushes on bases. They freak out and panic when they take a single hit and try to reverse or drive erratically - often crashing into other tanks or vehicles causing a logjam, or running down friendly troops.

People who don't hang around after a cap on a base and just high tail out onto the next objective. They don't even hang around long enough to clear out the last enemy defenders, who just cap the point back after killing any fool who stays longer than the absolute minimum time necessary to cap the base.

Pretty much happens to me every time I play TF2, even in good teams there will always be dead weight like snipers that can't aim, spies that always get caught before they can do anything, etc etc etc.

This oh god this. Nothing worse than people grabbing sunderers, a base getting capped then all of these single person sunderers taking off becuase no-one wants to wait to load up or whatever. So there are a bunch of us out of vehicles (because we realize we are not great at driving...i am not at least so i usually try and catch a ride)that all of a sudden are killed by the tank zerg because they cannot pilot the tanks, or just don't care and run the hell over everyone. Everyone who doesn't have a vehicle or tried to load up in a sunderer that has a driver and nothing else....if that is the call grab an atv....or a tank....sunderers are transports...if you drive one, you should be willing to pick up others, or don't drive them....

I also play engineer a lot, and i basically gave it up even though i spent a ton of certs because i was sick of getting crushed every time i tried to heal a vehicle...also, unless i am behind the tank zerg i just sunderer hop to the next location....that way i don't get run over by the damn tanks....

Mass Effect 3 multiplayer. Almost every game. Some people shouldn't play gold.

Nearly every Vanguard is some mindless moron who has no idea what they're doing, and tend to quit if they die. It's not my fault you brought along the Widow and Locust on a close range character. It's almost like you wanted to die.

I know that I'm not the best at the game, but I shouldn't have more points than my 3 "teammates" combined.

I don't like people who use the Cerberus Harrier either. That gun is a crutch if I ever saw one in a video game. It functions in the same way a crutch does to, you fall when it's taken away.

In my early days of playing MMO, it didn't matter what I played, I always ended up with useless teammates. My actual friends who game have very different gaming hours or simply have different tastes in games or can't stick with any MMO for more than a week, so I always end up with a bunch of bickering strangers; you get the loot hog, the preteen troll who never shuts up in chat & thinks he's calling all the shots for the team, the two guys who won't stop arguing with eachother about how to get shit done, the guys who get distracted & run off because they need to explore or gather crafting materials or kill anything that moves, the guy who's too anxious to get quests done that he accepted before joining that everyone else has either already done or are too low level to get, the guy who keeps going AFK....

I went through this for 3 years & finally found that it's more beneficial for me to just solo. I guess I'm cursed.

Im really fine with teams with bad players on them when you play multiplayer games you need to be prepared to lose occasional, and there's no greater feeling then carring a sub par team to victory. its the teams with the selfish players on it that piss me off. the ones only concerned with their k/d ratios.

Ditto on ME3 multiplayer - though I have to admit to actually BEING that person occasionally when I'm playing a class that I'm not familiar with. Engineer, Sentinel, Adept I'm pretty well OK. Infiltrator, Vanguard or Soldier... not so much :p

I think the one that bugs me the most though is the players who just run off all over the map at the start of a wave. Stay TOGETHER people, we'll all be much better off!

I'm not the best player in the world. I'm sure many have seen me as that useless person but do try and stick with the team at least (unless we need to split for whatever reason). You always get a few who just run in and don?t pay attention to whats going on.

I remember one particular guy Guild Wars because he was so obnoxious. He was playing an assassin, ran in front of everyone with his speed buff, refused to stop and teleported straight into middle of every group of enemies usually to be killed with the next second. Then he would start screaming for a rez and blaming the healer for not doing their job never mind that the healing spells actually have a range he was taking too much damage for a healer to save his squishy ass anyway. We eventually just didn't rez him and he quit.

team-based games are difficult to play sometimes because of the team part. whenever i get paired with a group who refuses to work together for whatever reason, i man up, raise my chin and play the best game i can possibly play while simultaneously trying to learn something from the experience.

that's really all you can do. if you sit there and ***** in all-chat about how it's a single person's fault or how everyone sucks but you, you're still going to get your ass kicked, just without the dignity.

that depends on the build of the Vanguard and how many brain cells the operator has, I'm a cautious vanguard, if a brute is on it's last bit of health then yeah, i'll charge him, but no more than 1 or 2 bars and not if he isn't alone. I'm smart enough to know better.

I've had issues in the ME3 multiplayer where everyone is playing as the same class, like infiltrator (long range) and we're up against enemies who basically have the cuddle of death and they can't put enough distance between themselves and the enemies to pick them off, or when i'm kicking ass but get taken down during the objective, and no-one revives me and i end up executed or having bled to death and then have to watch the rest of them panic and fail the match. Also, when everyone runs off in different directions and dies, it gets annoying after the first time because they don't learn. Oh and when you have to do the waves like disarming the indoctrination devices, everyone else is on the other side of the map picking their noses while you're getting shot to pieces.

i had this happen to me on natural selection 2. i was only on my 4th match since i bought it and still getting used to everything but everyone else on the team besides the commander just kept rushing off and dying (despite the team tabs showing they weren't new players) and eventually the commander just gave up on every one of them and it was just the two of us against the other team to the point he only followed me on the map dropping in supplies just for me so i didn't die. it was very saddening.

Nuff said -.-
We need to add an addendum to your "focus X" order. Once you've driven the guy away from the fight, STOP CHASING! If you can instakill him in one combo fine but don't chase him halfway across the map when me and Kieke got raped by fucking Fizz.

We were begging for you to turn around and help y'know... Nope, you're in the middle of an egotistical rant about how the enemy team was throwing the game and hear nothing but your own voice.

"THE THROWS! THEY'VE THROWN THIS SO HARD!"

"TURN AROUND! HELP!"

"I GOT THE VARUS! THE THROWS!"

Varus didn't even die. You didn't even got the Varus...

Ok, water under the bridge. Let's just focus on not leaving Kieke open because our front line disintergrates into who can chase the enemy carry harder? We're all bad at protecting our carry I swear, it's not just you. I need to pick Leona every game or something.

I think Kieke is better at doing damage as a carry and i'm better at keeping myself alive when I play carry. We need to merge into some sort of hyper-carry. Maybe carrying a huge crossbow and OP true damage... Pity no such carry exists in this world.

Halo 4 has the worst teammates I have yet to encounter in any video game, and that's pretty big considering I've been playing since the NES.

You take the vehicle they want? They plasma pistol you and throw grenades.

You take the sniper that spawns? They squat in front of you and jump around like a moron.

They'll keep doing all this till the end of the game, to. Every single stereotype about Halo players is true, I don't even see this level of asshattery in CoD or Gears.

I think worse ream mates compered to people like that are the people I meet on Europe West on DOTA2.

Russians who will not communicate unless you speak Russian, sometimes they start speaking English then they see another Russian and ignore everyone else... Sometimes I have even been reporting from verbal abuse because I didn't speak Russian!

And this is when Russians got their own servers!!! Yet they spawn like weeds on every region... I queued on US West (All the way from Finland) and I still got 3 Russians on my team. Also, they apparently got this idea that if someone doesn't understand crylirics spamming them in caps would help.
Also few times they have totally discriminated me, gone around in team of 4 and using their abilities to CC me! THEIR TEAMMATE to kill me and report me for feeding. . . Because I don't speak Russian...

I am all OK with Russians, but 9/10 times they are not O.K with me. Hell... 2 of my cousins are officially Russian (granted I do use them to translate witty insults for me...)

I am not saying all bad teammates are from Russian. I have just met so much of them that it almost seems like that... Because all the English speakers seem to be happy to see another English speaker in-game so much that they are pleasantly suprised and nice.

But in TF2 I have had medics who only pair with the same heavy, tho I play on servers in which Uber stacking on same player constantly is reportable offense and Admins don't like it at all.

And that is quite much all the multiplayers I play

Left 4 Dead 2 is pretty spectacular for this, since the most important trait is map knowledge. It's quite obvious when someone is new to a map.

I was playing the Hard Rain campaign recently, and since it's a hard ************, I'm not that familiar with it. My team was making the return trip through the sugar mill and one of my teammates figured it would be a good idea to run ahead while were fighting the tank (pretty much The Incredible Hulk in zombie form). Needless to say, he got grabbed and beaten to death by zombies, after which he started swearing at my team from beyond the grave.

(We didn't win that game.)
Ninja'd! Damn. Oh, well.

The only time I'm okay with people running ahead of me is:

1. If we're playing Versus and things are looking bad for us.
2. If I'm down and overwhelmed, also on Versus.
3. If we're close to the safe house.
4. If we've already restarted the chapter and we just wanna get it over with.

Once we were playing The Parish on a harder difficulty. It was just another guy and me left crossing the bridge finale; everyone else was dead. This other guy had a knack for letting us die in order to run to the safe house, which like I said, I understand, I guess. Zombies were overwhelming us and a Tank was right behind us. We could the helicopter already when my teammate went down. I was very weak but still tried to help him but if I kept trying to get him up (To no avail), the zombies and the Tank would overwhelm me too. So I did what he would do: I ran toward the helicopter.
So what happened? I didn't even make it to the helicopter. I got kicked out. I always try to be the best teammate, really. I was a good teammate but I guess they failed to see that. If I had being overwhelmed, the other guy would have left me behind for sure. But I think he was playing with his buddies so...yeah. Majority of votes.

The game is great if you manage to find good teammates. I mean, the game encourages you to play as a team and look out after one another. It literally rewards you. But when you're paired up with bad teammates...oh boy, you end up hating the game.

People who run ahead, who don't know where to go, who don't know how to play, people who will attack you instead, people who kick you out for no reason (literally), people who are selfish with their items, etc.
One thing I hate is playing with people who are playing together offline, that is, a single account and two players. For the most part, they only look after each other and they stick together. And if there's time, they might look after someone else. Not only that but they have a bigger vote power. They can easily kick everyone out if they want to.

But like I said, if you find good teammates, the game is great, especially on Versus where your actions kick the other team's butt.
In a match earlier that day, I was playing Dark Carnival, and we were in the tunnel of love. I got mobbed by zombies along the way, and as we're nearing the maintenance room, one of my teammates incaps me since he's using the least accurate shotgun in the game. I ***** at him a bit, and I figure it's just one of those things, right? So as we get to the maintenance room, I take a moment to heal (my team was pretty bad, and only one other person had a health kit by that point).

I try to heal, and the fucknut who incapped me shoots me again, like five times. I get incapped for the second time. At this point, I'm thinking "Okay, he's deciding to be a dick. Whatever."

I get up, heal again.

He teamkills me, then picks up my health kit and uses it while his health is in the thirties.

I try to kick him, since, y'know, teamkilling is teamkilling.

The other people on my team don't kick him.

I ragequit.
Yeah, I'm not sure why people keep doing that; ganging against others and shooting them just for shits and giggles, I guess. I run into people like that all the time. They're just trolling.
The other day, I was playing Blood Harvest with some guys. We all stepped out of the safe house, all of us with good health and a health pack. The other guys ran into a mob and pretty much got almost killed. They used their health pack but they still got almost killed. I kept my distance and watched out for special Infected (You know, sound cues or fast movement). So I was on orange health and still with a health pack. So one of the other guys starts shoving me (We didn't have headsets). I move away but he keeps at it. I assume he wants me to heal him, to which I replied with a mental "Ha! I am not wasting my health pack on you! You already spent yours and you're not being a good teammate anyway!".

So he starts shooting me, trying to kill him. I run ahead, trying to escape from him. By now, it's pretty obvious he's trying to kill me.

So what happens? They kick me out! me, the only person who was playing correctly and kinda kept them alive.

I dunno, sometimes, bad people just gang against good players. :l
