Gamers are just BURSTING with creativity. I always knew that. Back on Time Splitters on the PS2 you could design your multiplayer maps, and me and my friends would make crazy ones and play them more than the ones the game came with! Little Big Planet and its sequel really solidified the idea for me, ModNation Racers too and now with Minecraft, the stuff people do in that game is just crazy!

inFamous 2 will let you design your own missions to share with other people, and play them. I love that concept, I'm all for user generated content. People say most of the levels suck, but I don't remember playing a single bad level on LBP. People have ideas, and are just waiting for an easy tool to able them to be creative!

Some of my friends argue that it's just the developers being lazy, and letting the gamers do the work for free. I don't really agree, but what do you guys think about user generated content?

Gabe Newell interprets user generated content as the continual and cyclic reward system for the creativity in player communities.
(Openess of creativity -> Innovation -> Release to all players -> Benefit of all players -> Reward response to Creator + Frequent content delivery continues community interest in game, cycle restarts) as Team Fortress 2 has shown.
This says nothing of developers, which means we are free to assume they are being lazy, or working on other projects which may allow for more of the User-Generated content in other fields or genres.
