Using "Curse Words"

I try to not use tend but most of the time I use them to Emphasis or when im angry (and I rarely am)
but im a french quebecker so most are derived from church object

I use it sparingly. On the web I always censor myself[footnote]You got a f*cking problem with that?[/footnote] and in real life I don't really drop the F bomb. I say damn, shit and hell but usually around company that can deal with it or when I'm alone.

I sometimes wish I could swear like a marine...

They're just words. I've had people tell me that swearing is the deepest form of hatred and bullshit like that. I always thought lynching was a slightly deeper form of hatred, but whatever, I guess. I like to swear, kind of how I like to crack my knuckles; it doesn't matter to me if other people don't like it, it's just something I do and people can deal with it. Excessive swearing is slightly different, although I guess it's just like excessive anything else. But it does get really fucking annoying when there are over twice as many `fuck's in a sentence than the rest of the words in that sentence.

Yeah I swear a decent amount. It depends on when I'm using it though. On teh internetz I only really swear for emphasis. In real life I tend to swear a bit more regularly, but even then I avoid swearing in certain company.

I swear a lot. They're useful general purpose adjectives that can be applied in nearly all situations. It's a lot easier than taking the time and effort to have actual wit.

It helps that I couldn't care less if I offend people. If someone doesn't like the way I speak, they can go fuck themselves. That's really all there is to it.

How often do you use curse words and why?

I use them a lot. Not because I think it makes me look "cool", I use them simply because they are frowned upon in society which makes it all the more fun to use them. (if you have a problem with why I curse then keep your opinions to yourself)

If you don't want peoples opinions, why did you post on a forum? Just using curse words to piss people off is just as bad as using them to look cool.

I rarely curse, there are just more creative/intelligent ways to get the point across. I don't care if anyone else does but I tend to burn people much more eloquently than "fuck you asshole"

I curse a lot more often now than I did two years ago. I like to think that my many... colourfully-languaged ex-flatmates had a hand in the transformation of my daily speech. However, online I only curse when expressing great anger or for comedic value, neither of which are applicable here.

Okay, TomLikesGuitars. I have a bone to pick with you. WOPR, my boyfriend, is right about people who curse for no reason aren't very bright. So what if cursing is a bunch of sounds coming out of your vocal chords? The point is that there are better ways to convey your opinions and feelings without cursing. I don't curse, either. Why? Because I know of better ways to say things. You can impact a person strongly without the use of a curse word, and just as strongly as though you did use one.

Swearing adds emphasis. It isn't particularly eloquent- but, much like resorting to infinite loops in coding (another thing that my teacher has just informed me is frowned upon), it gets the job done.

I swear a lot because my industry actually requires it. If you work in the music business and you don't swear every so often, people tend to think that you're shady and not to be trusted.
