Using my Mac to play PS3?

I'm going off to college and I intend to play some video games while I'm there. That means that I need a screen for my PS3 to show me explosions and stuff on. The dorm rooms are not exactly what I'd call spacious so I want to minimize the space I take up. The TV I have now is definitely too big to bring so I would have to buy a new, smaller, TV.

I want to avoid buying a new TV if possible by hooking up my PS3 to my Mac and using my Mac monitor as the screen. I can't for the life of me find a cable that does this though, be it USB or not.

Does anyone know of any sort of cable that I could use to get my PS3 to play on my Mac?

If your mac monitor does not have a HDMI input, you're pretty well out of luck.

You could try using an RCA to VGA adaptor, but those things are expensive, there's no guarantee they would work and you'd be sacrificing quite a bit of quality even if it did work.

Troll through Kotaku, Engadget, Gizmodo and Joystiq. One of them had an article during the last month on exactly the sort of gadget you're looking for (although it's a converter not a cable). I don't care enough about Macs to actually go looking for it for you.
