After being ridiculously affronted by the Youtube comments I bothered to read I began to wonder: does anybody on the internet use proper grammar all the time?
With no-one to actually form a consensus I decided to turn here; so fellow Escapists I ask you: how often do you bother to construct your posts using proper grammar and spelling (anywhere)?
Also, post if this should be a poll so that I can fix it.
EDIT: I am glad that people see the irony behind my title.

On a forum like this, I try to use the best grammar. Whereas on Steam or other IM programs, I tend to throw the occasional 'u', 'ur' and other ones.

I try to use proper grammar most of the time. I'm afraid I'll get in the habit of using bad grammar on the internet and it will bleed over into my school work.

Meh, it depends on my mood. I'm usually too lazy to actually type all the letters out

I do if on a forum or in a game but if its just instant messaging to friends I will use acronyms sometimes but the overuse of them as well as terrible sentence structure annoys me.

I was taught how to use proper English and type proper English. So I don't know what this "IM chat shorthand" nonsense is you seem to be implying.

I use conversational grammar, but I won't go all out, essay-style proper English.

I try to construct sentences as best I can, using words like whom when applicable, properly using semi-colons, and keeping my prepositions from preceding a period. The only incorrect grammar I will not fix is starting the occasional sentence with a conjunction (And, but, or, etc...).

We must act classy, otherwise we become a glorified youtube. Although I do say the occasional spelling mistake can be rather... thrulling.

I type quickly enough that it takes me longer to use what other people describe as being abbreviations. Even if this were not the case, I'd still consciously avoid using them.

That explains my feelings on the subject quite well. If you can't be asked to try to sound intelligent, then I can't be asked to read it.

I am a firm believer in the notion that "When you use proper, spelling, punctuation and grammar, an angel rips its wings off"

With that said, I think there is a huge gap between someone like me who wont bother with using apostrophes or capitalizing Is or other grammatical rules and someone who writes I leik MW2, I is so teh awesum!!!111l1llulz. Or making no attempt to spell correctly so that the thoughts trying to be conveyed are actually conveyed.

I think those who want to point out any flaws just for the sake of pointing them out are just as bad if not worse than the ones who lack the ability to write well.

Key is, you need to be able to write well enough to get your point across and not force the person who might happen to read into utter WTF mode. Beyond that, I think we should lighten up and forgive a missed or added punctuation mark, and a misspelled word here and there.

Many more important things to get worked up over.

My grammar can be terrible at times, but I make a point of spelling everything out that I type. I type fairly quickly, too, so it's not that big of a deal for me to type out "you" rather than "u". Seriously, it's like half a second maybe to type out that word for me.

My grammar isn't perfect but I certainly make an effort to make my posts make grammatical sense. I'm certainly better than some examples I've seen on this site.

It isn't *that* important but it is something I always consider while posting.

The poll will go undone, apparently.
