You know what? Valve ROCKS! But it as to put up with the worst fans of anyone, this is an amazing deal, but i just know that someone's gonna find some way to complain about it "Yes you're giving us every single game you've ever made for half the price of one of them, BUT IT'S NOT HALF LIFE 2 EPISODE 3! WAAAH WAAAH!"

just saying a rough estimate if you sold all these games sperately (here in Australia) you would have a number between 300$ and 450$ so my question is how can i get this amazing deal please note that i live in Australia

I remember Gaben saying that putting something on sale increasis the sales by 200-400%. Pretty wild.

Wow, that's a very good deal. Problem is that I own almost all valve games from before, so I'm not gonna buy it.

And my PC can't play almost any of them. Great.

If I buy the pack now, will I be able to transfer it into another PC in the future? *is unaware of how Steam works* My guess is no, right?
The great thing about Steam is once you buy the game/games, you own them forever. So buy the pack now (it is an AMAZING deal) and once you get a better computer you will be able to download them all onto that computer (and every computer you log into your steam account from actually).

Also I bet your computer could play the first Half-Life, and a few of the older ones in that pack.

It was £49.99 before the sale. £139.81 is only if you buy them all individually.

Cutting the price of their products by 75% increases their revenue for the product by up to 400%.

Yeah, it can, I checked for compatibility on a few of them.

The problem now is that I don't have a credit card. didn't even think of that. Let's see if I can make a paypal before the deal expires.

i think its that most of these games already have turned a profit so it doesn't matter
But that's completely ignoring the EA way of milking a IP till it dies and then selling it again with a new twist - A zombie game!
Actually, Valve has found multiple times through sales that games on sale turn a larger profit.

Also, it's just another way to make money. EA's approach is to milk everything for what it's worth, not give two shits about who's buying or their issues, and basically focusing solely on the money.

Think of it as a Pizza Parlor. EA charges for the food, the condiments, the bathrooms, seating at the tables, rarely lowers prices, and treat customers like criminals.

Valve offers food at regular discounts, provides extras for free, and basically try to make it worth our while, and treats customers like people(well, most of the time. Sometimes they have their moments [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/comics/stolen-pixels/7827-Stolen-Pixels-211-This-is-Not-Funny]).

I'd be interested to see yearly earnings of both Valve and EA. To see how much each is making. Doubt they share this info, it'd be great to know if EA's methods are making a decent buck. I suppose they are, since EA's so big and publishes so many games, but still.

Pretty sure it's already been answered, but yes. If you buy it now, you can download them whenever you want, wherever you want. Just sign into the account you used to buy them and download. If the games are mac compatible, you can sign in to Steam on a mac, download them on that and play that way!

The Bargain level of this is off the charts.

And these charts are really fucking huge.

Is this deal still going on? It says $49.99 for me.

But even at that price, that's still a crazy-awesome deal.

EDIT: Never mind, I'm stupid and thought the thread said $24.99 and not £24.99.

Gaaawwwd... dayum.

As it happens, I already own all the games I want from that list. But still... awesome stuff.

...

Heh. I just had a mental image of the EA executives in charge of that new Origin digital distribution thing. They were all sitting around a meeting room looking distinctly despondent.

I signed up just to post this, and I doubt I will post much ever again, however:

I am sick of not getting this stuff only because I live on the wrong continent. There is no good reason I shouldn't be able to get this deal just because I'm Australian. There was no good reason I shouldn't have been able to buy AOE3 Gold for 99c, just because I'm Australian. For some reason, known only to the gods, companies (even Valve) think we're a gold mine. Our currency is stronger than the USD at the moment for the first time in pretty much years, yet we still pay more. And sure, Yahtzee called it the Best Beaches Tax, and I'm fine with that. I can deal with that tax. But to not even be able to get this deal, even though every single game is available individually here? That's just ridiculously arrogant.

It's a damn good deal, all of steams deals are reasonable (mostly)
However, i think the THQ pack is better for me. It contains:
Company of Heroes
Company of heroes: Opposing Fronts
Darksiders
Homefront
Metro 2033
MX vs ATV Reflex
Red Faction Guerilla
S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl
Saints Row 2
Titan Quest
Titan Quest - Immortal Throne
Warhammer 40k: Dawn of war 2: Retrubution
Warhammer 40k: Dawn of war 2
Warhammer 40k Dawn of war 2 Chaos Rising
All of this for:
50 Euros

Homefront let alone costs 50 euros (no discount, on the sale atm it's 37)

There once was a time when the Orange Box was hailed as the best deal in gaming history, well I can safely say that thats blown out of the water by this. On Steam the Valve Complete Pack is now only £24.99, down from £139.81, this pack includes all of Valves games, including Portal 2 which normally costs £30 on a non sale day. All I can say is, if you want the definitive PC collection, buy now. Contains:

Counter-Strike
Counter-Strike: Condition Zero
Condition Zero Deleted Scenes
Day of Defeat
Deathmatch Classic
Half-Life
Half-Life 2: Episode Two
Half-Life: Source
Blue Shift
Opposing Force
Left 4 Dead
Portal 2
Ricochet
Team Fortress Classic
Is it worth me buying just for the above?
I'd say it was worth buying just for L4D2 and Portal 2 to be honest
Well, I have Portal 2 on my xbox, and Left 4 Dead 2 already. So, the only one's I'd be happy to own would indeed by L4D(1) and Portal 2.
I liked l4d1 better then 2, and portal 2 is great all around so yeah I would recommend it.
