I've noticed that Valve seems to be getting a lot of things from Weta Workshop lately.
First, we have the Sentry.

And earlier this year, a guy from Weta Digital made this teaser for a fan film.

Conspiracy? Collaboration? Wild coincidence? I dunno about you, but I'm suspicious that something might be up between the two companies.

I was just thinking the same thing.
Also, the latest TF2 update is a little suspicious. The only description is "Updated some files, for no reason whatsoever"

Hmmmmm...

the head of weta is madly in love with valve CEO, and is trying to drop subtle hints.

The TF2 wiki revealed the contents of that update. It was a few new series of crates that may contain the Polycount hats. Crate #6 is a holiday-themed crate and cannot be opened with regular keys.

There may have been something else that I don't recall (can't be bothered to track down the page), but it was nothing all that mysterious.

Edit: Oh, they added some new paint colors. I think that was it.

Maybe they have a secret project. Or maybe I'm just thinking about wild conspiracy theories.

Lol. You know, if I were in such a position, I would do the exact same thing. Especially, if I was planning something BIG. Good to know that I have the same sense of humor as someone at Valve.
