If only Battlefield Heroes didn't suck then.
Hats off to Valve on this one.

Not that I'm not always happy to see the gaming community helping out, but I am somewhat suprised to see the same community that was just complaining that Valve wasn't doing enough just offering endless hats instead of TF3 now saying "Yay Valve! Tsunami hats!"

I dunno, harmless hipocrasy? It is for a good cause, afterall.

I wish I had money to buy one of those hats, but alas no money atm =(
I second this. Also, I wish my pc could handle any game. Right now, I don't even have access to any games!

Really bothers me that I can't provide any help. Our family is going through a rough time, financially and psychologically...

While it is admirable but that $99.99 hat is way too expensive! Yes it for a good cause but still.

It'd be neat if you could "donate" hats you already had in possession to raise money, kinda like CCP did with the EVE PLEX.

This is too much. Where was this outpouring for Haiti? Where was this support for gulf flood victims? Japan is more than capable of handling things, and from what I've read from people actually living there (and the EPA) it's not nearly as bad as the media portrays it.

There is nothing remotely admirable about pick and choose charities, especially when they pick and choose wealthier nations to aid rather than a poor nation that actually NEEDS the help.

Japan needs our help less than Haiti and even Americans still displaced to this day because of the Katrina and Rita hurricanes. I really don't know what to make of this, but it looks like just about everyone the world over has their priorities back assward.

Eh...I've already said this, but I repeat it again. Your a bit late aren't you valve? It's been what, 2 weeks and nothing? Also, nothing about you donating money? I'm sure they have, but I haven't heard anything. Honestly, I've already paid as much as I can, and I hope other people have as well, without requiring this pathetic incentive being offered here.

It's not a price for a hat.

It's a donation, and you get something nice for donating.

If a place has a raffle with some prizes, and it's a hundred dollars for a raffle ticket, the raffle ticket isn't "expensive", because you're not paying for it. You're donating.

I really, really wish I was employed enough to be able to support this. We'll see how this upcoming application goes, I guess.

While this is a great way to reward the consumer and raise money at the same time, it is odd to see the extension to which Valve company policy has become a process of finding the exact number of hats to throw at the problem until it goes away.

Next up: The hat for everyone who pre-ordered episode 3 five years ago.

Why won't the hats be available after April 6th? If they want people to support Japan they should make them able to do so all the time.

Just to let you know that I was aware of that, I'll encourage you to read a previous post.

Yeah, how dare they..
Hey! I'm not complaining at all. The more money people can raise the better, I just wanted to throw it out there, so people don't get all mushy mushy over Valve doing something great, like they're the only ones (which i know people will, knowing the community). Battlefield Heroes wasn't even the first...

Thank you for giving me a chance to clear it up.
