Last year, some screenshots came up of concept art within Valve studios that looked nothing like Half Life 3 or any of Valve's properties. Apparently, Valve's making a new open-world space game called Stars of Barathrum.

Looks awesome. I was going to lament the lack of Half Life 3, but this looks like it could be better.

Hopefully it'll be singleplayer focused (with the obligatory multiplayer mode tacked on that Valve insists on).

So people might not have been as crazy as we thought.

Well the concept art looks great but it does for every game, the translation into game form is what matters, and since they only really do FPS shooty things I wonder what they will do with this one.
One thing is for sure if this will be a real game then we will finally get a new engine from Valve, and then they can make Half Life 3.

Looks absolutely amazing.

Also did anyone else read that as "Stars of Bathroom?"

Oh I hope it isn't an MMO. I really hope it isn't...
But it probably will be. *sigh*
Yeah, this pretty much sums up my thoughts. Kind a shame, that concept art looks really good...

Wow, I was just wondering when they'd start a new IP. Always room for more open world space games
For the MMO doomsayers: judging from what Valve has done with all of their recent games I'd guess it will have an online component and/or a co-op component and (lack of an or) a single player component.
