"They also mentioned that work is progressing on a "massive" for TF2 on the 360"

So does that mean no update for PS3? I love TF2 but my PC isn't good enough so I have the PS3 version. It seems a bit unfair to neglect those people who went with Sony over MS.
It's too hard apparently, due to the fact there is no team that can code for the playstation working there, and xbox is apparently a lot easier to code for in relation to the regular PC version.

So they just give up. Come on Valve you're never going to stay on top if you give up if it's "too hard" grow a pair.

Played a morning of the new patch: Engies can team up to make some great strucures but have to stay to defend them, which means they can be sniped.

Spies are scary now...you can get stabbed at any time.

Demos can't just kamikaze through things, but they can certainly blow through things.

Nothing bad to see about the patch at all.

Had some giggles early today with a few clan mates, the new demo changes make em fun to fight against, but from demo point of view, I've not noticed any change, I still rake in the kills with them. Probably as I use stickys secondry to the pipe launcher.

The new dispencer is way nice and looks funky (has a medical pulse thing ontop thats animated, very cool Very Happy.) Level 3 teleports take next to no time to charge which makes attacking more fun, and isnt game breakingly fast. Plus upgrading EVERYTHING will take a while for a solo engineer.

I also think they've altered the medic particle effect around people as well. Its definately more noticeable.

With the 360 patch, maybe it will breath a bit of new life into the consul side of TF2, which might lead more into the PC side of things. One can only hope! As for the not coding for ps3... well, Valve are a PC developer, and have only just started branching out into consuls, the xbox360 is basicly a purpose built gaming PC, so I imagine its pretty easy to code for, whereas the PS3 has more cores the you can shake a stick at, and TF2 is designed for 2 max, potentially with more later on with the L4D improvements they're on about bringing in. But they'd have to do major recoding for the PS3 I think to remove DX8 and implement core support.

Its always been the PS3's problem is that lots of developers complain about codeing for it.

It has nothing to do with Valve being a PC developer or the PS3 being hard to code for; Valve outsourced the PS3 port to an external company, and as a result that company would need to update the PS3 build (but something tells me that Valve is not willing to pay project fees for that).

SWEET!, though, you could always move stickys with guns o_O, As engineer I always used the pistol to move away stickys
Though Now the spy will be over powerd, I hope the cloke will only restore like 1 second when you pick ammo.
Till next time

The Spy isn't really overpowered, as he still flickers at times; and you really need him that good to take out the wall of sentries on Goldrush/Badwater.

One thing that slows the Demo down is that a sentry opening up on him obliterates any lobbed stickies.

I did the same. Though now rather then them moving they just pop out of existance when you hit them. Kinda better. As they still did damage to something or other when moving them out the way (or you get a retarded heavy pushing them away from him, only to knock them into a sentry farm...

Sadly, no. Valve doesn't have much love for the PS3, or at least some of the people in charge of them don't *cought gaben *cough*

1: GOD DAMN DYING POWER SUPPLIES!!!!! :(

2: valve didnt do the ps3 port, ea did. valve doesent want anything to do with the ps3. gabe newell has continually been saying that the difficulty that comes from programming ps3 games isnt worth the extra time and effort. its not just valve that has said this, a shitload of developers and publishers have said the same thing. and contrary to what someone has said there ARE people at valve that can program for the ps3.

3: honestly, the "pc isnt good enough" excuse maybe works for games like crysis, but you can build a new computer that can max out ANY source engine game for less that you can get a ps3 for. source engine is 4 years old at this point and runs VERY well. if your pc isnt good enough either upgrade or get a new one, just get an old geforce 7 series card and a cheap amd dual core processor and your set to go for $300-400.

Indeed, if he's inside he'll find it tricky to get around the problem, unless he shoots at an angle away from the incoming fire. Then however the stickies will only do minor splash damage due to them being further away.

Outside however, without a protective roof the Demo can just lob-em-over as usual, and hope that an Engy isn't hiding behind it shooting them down.

Is this patch for the 360 version aswell?
If you're lucky, they'll include the scout update along with the other stuff and do the next major PC update with the 360 update. Otherwise they may just do the updates up to yesterday for the 360, when they get around to it.

I'm worried about Spies, a person obsessively playing spies can actually be OP sometimes, their new ability worries me a tad, but thank god for the demo-men, their sticky bombs ticked me off all the time.
