As if Valve needed anymore talent, the Half-Life studio has now acquired a designer known for his work on some of the coolest games ever.
I'm surprised that "anymore" didn't cause more controversy [http://alt-usage-english.org/anymore.html] from posters. (Yes, I prefer "any more" for that kind of construction.)

"Grampa... What was it like in the before-time?"
"Well, sonny, it was a different age. Talented designers were sprinkled throughout the industry. They worked for various studios and publishers. It was simple times. Then along came Valve wreathed in a cloud of steam. They began snatching them up one by one till they owned all the talent in the world."
"...Wow. You mean Lord Newell didn't always rule the world?"
I, for one, welcome our new Valve overlords.
Let me rephrase that. *ahem*

"...Wow. You mean Lord Newell didn't always rule the world? That's horrible!"
Hehe...

OT: I wonder that they are up to at Valve HQ.
Eating cake.

Ooooh, good grab Valve. I don't suppose there's anyway he could be working on HL2:E3 is there? I don't suppose there's anyway anyone is working on HL2:E3? Maybe?

Just saying. Chop, chop.

I believe that Newell likes to keep them in small glass domes along his "Hall of Pride".

Lined out with gold bars and skulls of conquered enemies. Also based on my information he also keeps a deadly man-eating armadillo he calls "Fluffy" in there.

Seems pretty sweet, I wonder what they'll be put to work on...

Also, at some point in future, they should have all these teams join together to become a game-dev version of Voltron and make The Best Game Ever, which would preferably be Episode 3.

Pretty sure they used the term "steal" because he was involved with the "Thief" franchise. Get it?

Anyway, with all this new talent, Valve will hopefully start making games. As they really don't have a lot of franchises under their belt, and the ones they do have are glorified mods.

Well, you know what they say. Some studios die, and others becomes titans. And we all know what happens to titans.

[sub][sub]They get killed by some twit with a toothpick-sized sword, or have their jugulars ripped out by an ugly, pasty, angry ************.[/sub][/sub]

HL3 needs to be ABSOLUTELY PERFECT for making people wait for so long (though not as much as Duke Nukem Forever has to be EVEN MORE PERFECT)

VALVe is collecting the best ones little by little.
and then they will freeze them in ice and blow up the world.
Their programmers will blot the sun!
They are working to build a master race of game developers.
I love Gabe Newell acting like a high school girl when they ask them about game sequels.

Whenever I hear any valve related news, all I can think of is the elephant in the room.
He's been there for a couple'a years now and valve aren't exactly helping...

OT: Yeah, great studios have a habit of hiring great designers, hence great games.

Wow, 33 posts to get an Episode 3 comment, I was surprised, record?

Anyways, cool news, I'm glad these guys can go on to do what they're best at instead of fading away with so much potential.
