All in all, it's about four times as long as the first portal, so it makes sense.SomeLameStuff said:13,000 lines of dialogue... the voice actors must be cursing Valve right now with their sore throats and broken voices. I'll bet they weren't expecting to do THIS much talking for such a short game!
my guess is it will probably have that too, but they cant rely on it as the game is now full length.danpascooch said:Crap, the subtlety of the story was the best thing about it in Portal 1, it told the story through setting and gameplay, not dialogue.
Oh, god....WANT!subject_87 said:Also, they really should bring in Yahtzee to voice a Personality Sphere...
Or that fact that it's a Valve game. Ohh, casual Valve hate.Tom Goldman said:One of the reasons Portal [http://www.amazon.com/Portal-2-Pc/dp/B002I0JIQW]...
Actually, they are now in NEGATIVE progress on it. Don't ask how.MiracleOfSound said:In other news, Valve wrote 000000 lines of code for Episode 3.
I hope for my wallet's sake that you're right. Because this is one of those games that I, (and probably a few hundred thousand other gamers) have preordered.HellspawnCandy said:Valve is one of those types of companies that can do it. Half-life and Half-life 2 are pretty different. I think it can be done.JaymesFogarty said:I'm still on the line about Portal 2; does anyone think that this game will look past the refreshingly original and quirky gameplay, to create a truly diverse, interesting and most importantly fun experience throughout? I have a horrible feeling that what I loved about Portal was how different it was from other games; is more of the (similar) same thing innovative enough to create an experience as good as Portal did?
Well, we don't really have a talking protagonist in this, unless you count the Coop bots. Single player still follows Chell, and $10 says she's still silent.donkey9125 said:Surprising amount of dialogue if a game like GTA only had 80,000 lines, cool to see Valve do a story based single player game with a talking protagonist this time around.(Sorry if they already have and I'm unaware)
